... do i have to split them up? i have no idea how to work photoshop. i've essentially been working on trial and error. before i found this site in the summer i never even used it. i just found out how to resize things. how do i split them up, and put them back together? i have no idea how to use layers. .... this is soo much friggin hassle. im trying to help this site out by uploading covers that arent on here, but everytime i do, i run into some issue that prevents me from helping out. and i could upload them as raws and have someone else do the work, but damnit, i want to get some credit for all the hard work i am doing. i bought a friggin 200 dollar scanner just so i could help. Is it absoulutley necessary to cut them up to resize them? cause i printed the cliffhanger cover, as a test, and it fits perfectly. plus, most of these covers are the ones with the strips, and i dont want to screw it up any more. if it is necessary, then i guess i'm gonna have to bumble my way through photoshop and hope that eventually i figure out what the heck to do. i dont mean to sound so pissy, i know that this site has strict standards that must be adhered to, it just makes this really difficult for a photoshop novice to contribute to this site, and thats what i really want to do. so if someone could perhaps tell me how to do it, i will gladly cut it up if necessary. again, i dont mean to sound pissy, i'm just a little frustrated. |

ok, completley unedited, the spine is 293 px, the rear is 1531px, and the front is 1540px. is that close enough, since they are sega spines, which are extremely broad to begin with, or do i have to cut them up? if i cut it up, i have a feeling it will screw up the lines. but if you want me to, i wont upload anything else until i learn how to cut it up and resize each piece individually. i know its probably not that difficult, but i have no idea. let me know. |

I'll give you the credit no problem.... Besides the spine should be 294pixels and the front and back 1536 pixels on the finished cover.... So that is why you are lucky and your cliffhanger cover almost fits.... But as you said it would be nice to have the covers perfect fitting... It is not always the same... Some covers can be way more off then others.... Always depends on the scanning proccess... I know it's hard for a photoshop noob by the way.... I started on this project without any knowledge of photoshop.... But you'll learn as time gos by.... :) |

ok....so i spent the entire day, reading up on forums about photoshop, reading through tutorials, and messing around with it for about the last 5 hours or so, and i've figured out how to do it. took a lot of trial and error, but at least now i can resize the front, the spine, and the rear seperately, to make sure that they are each the right dimensions. so, i know your rather busy, so i'm gonna go through and make sure everything is resized properly, and then i'll upload all my covers myself. thanks for the offer to do it, but hopefully i will be able to do them all myself. thank. |
