@zakurowrath:

I was just wondering why all your cover previews look so faded (I suppose and hope the covers don't)...?

They do really? I always bump the contrast up on every cover I make to make them more vibrant. Maybe Cover Pro is doing something to the picture, I always turn the "light" option on to reveal the whole cover so that may be it.

Alot of the times in IMANDIX, if you don't uncheck "Depth Blur" and click "High Quality," the previews end up looking a bit blurry/faded. HOWEVER, I haven't checked out the real cover, so it could just be that it is faded. lol.

Could be, most of my games are used, that or my scanner is just getting old. It could even be the editing software I use, it's abit old as well.

It is the "Light" option in Imandix making it look faded. Check my post HERE, (down near the bottom).

Took a look at the cover. Fading is just because of Imandix but it could still need a bit of detail work. The front has some spots which should be cleaned. It also looks as if the front came from a not too hot scan. Did you scan it yourself?

I did,the front, back and spine labels were scanned at 600dpi with medium sharpness and descreen on. Then I turned up the contrast 25% on all of them since they looked abit dull. Now the spots I can see, the rainbow banding, I have no idea how that happened, it didn't turn up in the original RAW scan, damn Fireworks must have done something to it.

Maybe scanning with just descreen on and nothing else would be best. You can apply contrast or color or sharpness afterwards in photoshop. Scanners often tend to do strange things to scans when you use settings for image alterations when scanning.

I'm working on a 'red stripe' version of Ghouls N' Ghosts.

Here's what I have so far

Before I continue, I was hoping you guys could help me out a bit, namely with regards to the template options and stuff. I believe this port was actually developed by Sega themselves, but the original game was made by Capcom, so which should go on the spine, Capcom or Sega? The game also doesn't seem to have a product number or whatever that number on the bottom of the spine is. What should I do about that?

Also wondering whether or not the bottom red bar should be used, etc. I don't work with genesis much so hopefully you guys can help me out here a bit.

Well seeing as how it was reprogrammed by Sega, Id say follow the regular sega format with the bottom red bar and sega spine logo but maybe have the capcom logo on the back with all the proper legal text giving capcom credit for being the original developers. Looking great btw! ;)

I kinda had to omit some of the legal text like the address and Made in Japan bits because I was running out of room, but I at least got the reprogrammed game C Sega 1989 stuff. I thought about putting the address info on the red bottom part on the back, but I wasn't sure if it'd be considered too much a deviation from the template or something. If someone thinks I should add that info there, though, I'll do it.

anyhow, what do you think?

Well you can always put some of the legal text on the bottom red bar on the back.  Also, I'd suggest moving some of the back text a little further away from the edge.  As it is right now, when you'd print that and cut it out that text would be dangerously close to the edge.  Other than that it's looking good.

Edit, also you should use the new Sega Seal from the Shenske Template.  It's much cleaner.
