Wii U

Seraph Man:
Let's see, what this new console needs:

1) An online scene that can compare to XBL or PSN
2) A better market place (One without limited file sizes or limited demos)
3) An achievement system (They don't have to call it achievements. I personally think "Challenges" works nicely. "You beat 37 out of 40 challenges so far.")
4) An account system (to link up my DSi/3DS to my account along with my "U," share points and whatnot. It won't happen though)
5) A good price-point (I understand if it ends up a little more expensive than PS3 or 360, but keep it reasonable)
6) A means of painlessly transfering Wii data to the Wii U, similar to what is available on the DSiWare marketplace (But transfer everything! Save data and all purchases, not just most)
7) A killer launch line-up (More than one 1st-party title. Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, any of that. And a couple of solid 3rd-party. Exclusives are not necesary though.)

Am I asking for too much?

I agree, I own 30 games personally for the Wii (maybe only 5 of them are average, the rest are great), and my Wii wish list is at 15 more games (this doesn't even count games that other people have enjoyed that I am not interested in). That's a lot of quality games there. It may not be as high as other consoles, but 45+ games should be more than enough for most people.

I am excited to see what the Wii U can really do and what games they have for it when it finally comes out. Just a little disappointed they had nothing to show off for it like with the 3DS.

Sound reasonable

I don't think I will be getting the Wii U for a while after it gets released.  I got my Wii 2 + years ago....I have played MAYBE 10 hours on it.  Nintendo is losing me on the home console....I  want to relax and level grind some characters that have long back stories and kick the shit out of demon type things.

The system seems to be severely lacking in RPG games. (The DS is a good place for them though)

But you have to admit that the games which are good on Wii and were made specifically for the system (Mad World) or ported with sginificant enhancements (Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition) were truly great and sometimes unique.

I bought a Wii at launch and an Xbox360 about half a year later. Now I have 12 Wii games and 97 Xbox360 games.....  In the end it was all worth it and if the Wii U suffers the same fate it will still have been worth it for me buying it. But these figures alone should give you a hint what I'm getting at :)

I doubt I can pick more than 30 games from any console since the PS2 that I love 100%. From the past decade only the DS and PS2 libraries have been so damn good to me. Sure the PS3 has amazing good looking games, but very few of my type (RPG lover here).

same for me, can't pick up more than 30 ... unless its SNES or NES, more than 60 for those!!!
