My tally is 2 Wiis against 4+1 Xbox 360s against 2 PS3s

Games 20 to 150 to 30.

EDIT:
I doubt I can pick more than 30 games from any console

Not a game collector!!!

From the past decade only the DS and PS2 libraries have been so damn good to me.

Two words: God Hand. Oh, how I love that game.

Now I have 12 Wii games and 97 Xbox360 games.....

Four Wii games, 78 360 games, 25 PS3 games. Yeah, I totally get what you're saying about the Wii's library. It's atrocious.

Also, I was EXTREMELY surprised that I did not hear anything about an online network being launched for the Wii/Wii U. Nintendo seems like they are REFUSING to believe that they need a service like Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. (Sure, PSN is only just now coming out of an outage, but at least it EXISTS. Nintendo can't say the same.) Do they seriously think that Friend Codes are the way to go? Are you kidding me?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just didn't hear about it. Although, the way Reggie describes it kind of makes me weary. (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/306013/news/wii-u-has-xbox-live-psn-level-online-capabilities-nintendo/)

Also, to whoever said that the New Mario Bros. was just an update, it's not. It's a full-fledged game. THAT is why I'm upset about it.

That was me, and I was afraid of that, altough I do like the retro Mario games.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Yeah, they call it New Super Mario Brothers Mii, they said now you can play the game as your Mii.
I mean,ok, it's a Mario title so I guess they really don't need to advertise it and it was probably only shown to showcase the "play-the-game-on-the-controller"-feature. But it looks just like New Super Mario Brothers Wii. And of all the things they could point out, like is it a completely new game, is it a remix, is it something entirely different, they decide to tell us you can play as your Mii  :-\

That's great but there are XBL Arcade games like Bomberman that do just that, let you play the game as your avatar...

Please Nintendo, don't wait too long to give me something that will blow me away. I'm sure they have something great up their sleeve. But they can't just announce a new console, give me a very interesting controller and interaction between console and controller and then sneak out the backdoor laughing :)

Just a thought, they better have a DS player for the system, It would work, the TV being the top screen and the Controller the bottom, It better be compatible with ALL gameboy games if this does come true though.

Wow, I am completely dumbfounded by the fact that it seems most people on this thread can only recognize between 4 and 20 Wii games as ones worth owning.

i think people are fogetting about a host of great Wii games, mad world, boom blox, endless ocean, tatsunoko vs capcom, raving rabbids series, rockstar table tennis, house of the dead, nights, and of course mario kart, and the game that started it all Wii Sports.  That's 10 without even thinking about it - the shovelware makes it seem like the wii library is crap, but there are a host of fantastic wii titles out there, that don't use gimmicky controls for the sake of it.

Imagine playing Bomberman with 10+ players each using that new controller. (or DS)
And not in the normal 30 by 40 arena but something way bigger.
Should have classic mode with flat arenas and advanced mode with 3D arenas

That would be fun.

EDIT:

Good idea but playing for example Yoshi Island DS would be wierd, because you constanly go from upper to lower screen and back.
In my case in would be from 47" to 6.2" and back. Aiming from screen to screen would be nightmare.

That's why I would vote for Dual screen control tablet.
Screens like 3DS but bigger and but touch screens.

Wii Sports serie are not games but tech demos, but free so won't bitch more.
And glad that you too think Twilight Princess Wii is gimmick control.  ;)

Let's see, what this new console needs:

1) An online scene that can compare to XBL or PSN
2) A better market place (One without limited file sizes or limited demos)
3) An achievement system (They don't have to call it achievements. I personally think "Challenges" works nicely. "You beat 37 out of 40 challenges so far.")
4) An account system (to link up my DSi/3DS to my account along with my "U," share points and whatnot. It won't happen though)
5) A good price-point (I understand if it ends up a little more expensive than PS3 or 360, but keep it reasonable)
6) A means of painlessly transfering Wii data to the Wii U, similar to what is available on the DSiWare marketplace (But transfer everything! Save data and all purchases, not just most)
7) A killer launch line-up (More than one 1st-party title. Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, any of that. And a couple of solid 3rd-party. Exclusives are not necesary though.)

Am I asking for too much?

I agree, I own 30 games personally for the Wii (maybe only 5 of them are average, the rest are great), and my Wii wish list is at 15 more games (this doesn't even count games that other people have enjoyed that I am not interested in). That's a lot of quality games there. It may not be as high as other consoles, but 45+ games should be more than enough for most people.

I am excited to see what the Wii U can really do and what games they have for it when it finally comes out. Just a little disappointed they had nothing to show off for it like with the 3DS.

Actually a US citizen, but the US playstation id's look like crap :(

I don't think I will be getting the Wii U for a while after it gets released.  I got my Wii 2 + years ago....I have played MAYBE 10 hours on it.  Nintendo is losing me on the home console....I  want to relax and level grind some characters that have long back stories and kick the shit out of demon type things.

The system seems to be severely lacking in RPG games. (The DS is a good place for them though)

Nah, 99% is pretty harsh. 80% sounds more like it. But you have to admit that the games which are good on Wii and were made specifically for the system (Mad World) or ported with sginificant enhancements (Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition) were truly great and sometimes unique.

I bought a Wii at launch and an Xbox360 about half a year later. Now I have 12 Wii games and 97 Xbox360 games.....  In the end it was all worth it and if the Wii U suffers the same fate it will still have been worth it for me buying it. But these figures alone should give you a hint what I'm getting at :)

I doubt I can pick more than 30 games from any console since the PS2 that I love 100%. From the past decade only the DS and PS2 libraries have been so damn good to me. Sure the PS3 has amazing good looking games, but very few of my type (RPG lover here).

same for me, can't pick up more than 30 ... unless its SNES or NES, more than 60 for those!!!
