I'm finally one step closer to making my reproduction cart of Secret of Mana 2. I just won the auction for NHL '97 (along with Lion King and SGB), which will become my donor cart. The next step will be getting the EPROMs and 2to4 line decoder.

Also here are some previews of the box & cartridge designs I'll be using for the repro:

Once I'm done with everything, I'll turn the box into a cover and upload here for everyone (along with the manual and map).
I'll keep this thread updated as I progress through my work, so it could serve as a guide for anyone interested in making repros.

That's my first, so I'll be making it very carefully.

Keep us informed on how this goes, every time I try to make a repro cart.  I end up goofing up the donor cart.

I would like to make Secret of Mana 2 and a Terranigma.

Are you painting the cartridge blue also?

Were there any colored PAL or Japanese SNES carts like the black Killer Instinct, and red Maximum Carnage and Doom carts here in the US? Did you guys get the Zeldas in gold on the NES? I know there were lots of different colored Famicom games, but I'm not sure about PAL NES.

Can't think any colored PAL SNES games. And at least Zelda aLttP was normal gray.

Oh did it? I have one of those Nintendo Power Japanese carts too. I think it's white. So that's at least two Japanese shaped SNES carts that are a special color. Kinda interesting that Japanese and PAL SNES carts, systems and controllers look the same, but for NES carts, systems and controllers, the USA and PAL versions look alike. So the oddballs are Famicom and US SNES, having no overseas lookalikes.

Not so good. Right now I'm kinda struggling form money, since I just lost my job. As such, I still need to get my hands on the EEPROMs, as the ones compatible mentioned on snesdev.romhack.de are VERY hard to get here in Poland (and if they are availible, the prices are outrageous). Right now I only have the disassembled NHL '97 cartridge, and semi-finished redesigned box & label. I didn't even start on the manual.

Yes.

AFAIK Doom and Carnage were standard grey in the PAL regions, though KI was black. And yes, we did get the gold NES Zelda.
