I remember vaguely  someone here thinking of creating UMD-drive for PS3.

Did that progress or did it get buried?

There is no official one. They are gonna start remastering select titles from psp for ps3, and sticking them on a blu ray.  Downside is they willmprobably be a lot more than buying the psp version

Yeah I know that, but I think someone here was planning on trying to make one.

This would be awesome if they really upgrade / update them.

Hope they will release them as an collection type thing with many similar games on one disc.

Then the price would  probably be tolerable

I might remember wrong or the drive has been deemed impossible to make.
Would need custom program to work, so lotta work.

Unfortunately the first candidate is monster hunter 3rd all by it's lonesome... I would love collections of the god of wars, metal gears, and finalfantasys.

The visual update is pretty good, but they aren't adding trophies, which is a tad disapointing.
They are going to be compatible with the psp save files, and multiplayer is allegedly cross platform between thepsp and ps3 versions

I would love to see some new content
