hey all, a buddy of mine started up a video game blog a little while back ( which i write for on occasion[not that i can write for shit])

www.falsetravels.com

just thought i'd give it a shout out, maybe some of you fine fellows will get a kick out of it

side note... was thinking about writing a brief article about the cover project, anyone here interested... think its a bad idea, or want any input on the piece?

I don't know do we need more publicity.

There has been quite a rise in bot and empty account activity lately.
Of course we could tighten the screening a bit...

On the other hand your article could lead to new artists coming here.

So my vote is go ahead.

My main reason isn't so much to publicize the site. I've realized recently that alota people I know in the real world, and othernweb based worlds, really don't understand then custom cover culture, and since false travels entire readership (thus far) is people I know in some way, this is finally a way to make them understand what this is all about.

I also gotta ask snow cone if I can borrow his quote on the main page becaue I think it sums up the wholenthing very nicely

Do ask him but I doubt he would mind as long you give him credit.

I'd be interested in an article. I find it hard to explain to a lot of people (especially non-gamers) exactly what I do on this forum. People just don't get it. :P

for me it started with a copy of marvel vs capcom 2 (ps2) i got at game stop years ago. i made my own cover for it, and just couldnt stop after that

(if there is a topic asking this already i apologize)

I'm not yet really in to cover making, as I lack the skill.

But I sloooowly start practizing.

So far what covers I have done are minor fixes to exsisting covers.

So far no-one has responded about the quality, but only hissy fitting on copying covers and claiming them as my own, altough I have always credited the original creator and told that I  have only done alterations and fixes.

 ;D

what got you into all this in general though, not just actually making them, i dont make many cover these days, just due to time, but i still spend alot of time on the site just looking all the beautiful work ( and printing anything that would make my game collection prettier)

Oh. in general.

I wanted nice way of storing my huge ever groving game collection.
I think I was first just searching for boxes to store them, but accidentaly stumbled here, AND IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!  :D
Since then I have done my best at providing raws, even by re-buying games for boxes and buyimng rarer games.

Yeah.  :)

I'd say about 1/3 of my collection of NES, SNES & N64 games is cased, so quite a way still to go.  :(
At the moment my biggest hurdle is getting enough big quantity of US DS cases.
