Wind Waker is definitely a game you must play!  My top five Zelda games are as follows

1.  Ocarina of Time (N64)
2.  Wind Waker (GCN)
3.  A Link to the Past (SNES)
4.  Link's Awakening (GB)
5.  Twilight Princess (GCN/Wii)

I'd say
1. A Link to the Past (SNES)
2. Ocarina of Time (N64)
3. Majora's Mask (N64)
4. Ocarina of Time Master's Quest (NGC)
5. Zelda 1 (NES)
6. Zelda 2 (NES)
7. Link's Awakening (GB)
8. Oracle of Seasons (GB)
8. Oracle of Ages (GB)
10. Twilight Princess (Wii)

I might like Twilight Princess more if would play NGC version as the wii controls seem unnesessary.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Maybe I should stay behind cover because I really think that "Ocarina Of Time" is overrated :o

Don't get me wrong, for me personally there is no bad Zelda game. Comparing Zeldas and marking out their flaws is like comparing different Ferrari models and their engines. Complaining on a high level.

I got my N64 back then BECAUSE OF "Ocarina Of time", so I played it the day it came out and it's not a graphics thing. It is an awesome game, no doubt, and I had a blast playing it. But in retrospect it didn't impress me that much. I never played through it a second time, I never tried to get all the spiders. I don't know, it just didn't captivate me as much as the ones before AND the ones that came after it.
Basically everyone says "Ocarina Of Time" is their favourite Zelda, and that this game is a milestone in the Zelda history but I just don't see what it is that makes THIS Zelda apparently the best for a LOT of people ???

Could be the people who grew up with it. The ones who started playing video games with the N64. That's part of the reason why "A Link To The Past" was, is and always will be my favourite Zelda. I started playing video games as my main hobby on the NES. But I grew up with the SNES and "A Link To The Past" was the first Zelda I've ever played. So maybe that plays into it. I just don't know :)

I never played "Majora's Mask" so I can't say anything about the game. I still had my N64 back then but I must have been busy with something else. I will play it someday just out of curiosity.

Probably.

Altough I did start my Zelda trek from the first zelda then Zelda 2, I think they were still too hard for me (+ I didn't speak English then) so the first Zelda I really enjoyed was the third instalment.

Wind Waker doesn't even make the list!!!  :o  That game had so many little things that made the game fantastic. Just look at link's eye's while playing.  Putting that much detail and fine tuning into to something as small as the eyes is ridiculous!  FYI: for those who haven't played if you are ever stuck or can't find something in the game Link's eyes will often drift where you need to go or where a hidden item is.

Yes, i enjoyed Twilight princess much better on the Gamecube than i did he Wii.  The Wii controls were rushed for that game and felt more fluid on the GCN (plus i can't stand Link being right handed on the Wii.

Honestly, Majora's Mask is the Zelda game that I've played the most times. It's my favorite.
I haven't even touched TP for the GCN. I own it, though. I have 100% the Wii version.

My friend actually bought Master Quest the same day I got the Collector's disc, so we'll be swapping them back and forth. I've actually been dying to play Majora's mask the most because of its creepy atmosphere. I'm mostly playing Ocarina because it ties into Majora (though I'm still enjoying it). Really disappointed the disc didn't have Link to the Past though, that was the second on my to play list. I'll have to grab the GBA version from my GF for my new Game Boy player. So glad summer vacation starts Monday.

I'll be going Ocarina > Majora > Link to the Past for now. Then I've gotta go out and buy the rest. ;)

That disc missing link to the past is inexcusable.  That pissed me off from the day it was released.  No fucking reason!  Excuse my language, but there is no reason that game should not have been included!

The GBA rerelease came out less than a year before the collection came out. Really sucks that it's not on there, but I can see why. The GBA version is supposedly superior, so at least it gives me incentive to play it.

To be fair, it was a free disc.  Getting four of the best games ever made for free and you're upset that they didn't throw in a fifth?

Anyway, best Zelda damn game ever made period is Link's Awakening.  Anyone who disagrees is wrong.

Oh yeah you're totally right uncle bob, I love when one game is missing from a collection, it is awesome!  I'm sure everyone thought it was terrific!  Thanks for showing me the light :)

"one" game?  It was missing more than one.
LttP, LA, the Oracle twins, Four Swords and Wind Waker.  Plus the CD-i titles.

It was missing one home console game.  The entire disc was old-school home console games.  And you say "free", remember that was a limited offer.  Many people got raped paying $80 for it on ebay, Nintendo could have sold it for a profit.
