one mayor problem is that you have to travel on a boat, and to move you have to change the wind's direction. at dist it is not that bad, but when you get to need to go to different places for one mission or so, it starts to get tedious, also, the boat won't move that fast. there are some shortcuts like whirlwinds, but they apear later in the game and won't help that much.

the story is kinda mixed, som parts are really fun and other i find them annoying, like the fact that zelda is spoiler $%# spoiler. some scenes are really cool,
like when you go underwater and go to hyrule for the firts time, the story and animations look nice.

the greatest disapointment people felt that it has absolutely no relation to all the other games, its just another spinoff title.

at last, at the end you have to collect the triforce and it is really really booooring. i played the game like 2 years ago, but this is more or less how it goes.
the 3 parts are separated into 15 to 20 parts and they are hidden in all the game world. you have to find them to do i dont remember what. to find them, you have to get a lot of money to pay the map green guy (forgot the name) to give you the map of the location of ONE of the parts. then you go look for it.

the cost of the map is approximately 200 to 300 rupies. the parts are mostly hidden underwater, unless you have to go into a sidequest like getting a bunch of masks or completing a dungeon or a slide puzzle. the hardest one for me was the one in which you have to find a ghost ship, i found it at pure luck. i followed the instructions on how to find it, but the wind ket changing so that i couldn't get there, or the night became day and it dissaeared. i randomly walked over it in a quest for another part.
according to nintendo, they didn't finish testing this game, and that;s why the boat is so neccesary and slow, and the triforce was split in 16 parts instead of 10, 6 or 3. the ending is pretty funny though

after all, i recommend it, it gives you a certain satisfaction after beating it with so much hard wrk

Actually, technically Windwaker is considered a split timeline sequel of OoT, like Majora's Mask where the Hero of Time (Link) never turned up to kill Ganondorf again so the gods flooded Hyrule to destroy Ganondorf.

What?!  So Wind Waker does NOT take place AFTER Majora's Mask?

If you consider the time loop idea where the timeline looped in terminia and not hyrule (and with Terminia being a different parallel dimension than Hyrule), hundreds of years could have passed in hyrule while it was the same three days in Terminia, so with that, Windwaker could be happening DURING Majora's Mask.

which was later refuted by shigeru miyamoto, stating that is just another story that doesn't go with the alredy messed up timeline

to tell the truth, there is no real timeline, never will be. Each game (aside from the First two which exist together) Exist in their own universe, no prequels, sequels, etc. Thats the best way to describe it.
mariocaseman:
No, Majora's Mask is a sequel to Ocarina of Time.

Never heard this theory before.
Intresting but in probable.

Yeah I too have always thought that Majora's mask happened right after Ocarina of Time when Link was returning from somewhere.
SonicAdvDX:
Yeah, the opening scene to Majora's Mask (while it's never stated clearly) is supposed to be Link searching for Navi after OoT. Also, Oracle of Seasons/Ages take place directly after one another depending on which order you play them in.

Also, Minish Cap is supposed to be a direct prequel to Four Swords, because the games show the villain Vaati going from his original form as a member of the Minish race to a full-sized sorcerer who ends up getting killed by Link using the Four Sword, then Four Swords Adventures comes directly after that.

Other than that, most games have no discernible connections. Except maybe Phantom Hourglass coming after Windwaker? I can't exactly remember the setup of Hourglass, but I'm pretty sure the game starts you out as the same tunic-less Link from WW, and you find the same boat and you don't seem to be too surprised by it. I THINK.

Also, Link to the Past says on the back of the box that it stars the Link and Zelda predecessors to the NES games. But, before the release of Ocarina of Time, Miyamoto told Nintendo Power in an interview that the order of the games went OoT->Zelda->Zelda2->LttP.

This whole series is screwed up.
