So I've heard a lot of bad stuff about FF 13 but I decided to try it myself anyway. I've got to say I'm only about six hours in but I don't see the problem! I'm really enjoying the refreshing changes to gameplay that were made and while the story is sort of linear at this point it is a JRPG so I sort of expected that. What do you guys think? Does it get worse later on or are people just complaining because all they really want is a remake of seven and not a new game? |

Ff13 isn't necessarily a bad game, in fact its a pretty good one, just one with faults. The tutorials I think got on alot of people's nerves, also the inability to level grind probably did the same. I did like the story, though it is an allegory for the Holocaust, and the battle system was unique and streamlined, you only have to control one person and through paradigms you alter the class of the other people in your party. I noticed alot of the reviewers seem to compare it to older FF games, which is never fair. Sure in comparison to a masterpiece like VI, XIII is shit, but on its own, it stands alone and it is a fun experience. Basing whether or not a game is good on previous installments is like saying "This episode of Star Trek is good, but in comparison to "City on the Edge of Forever", it sucks!" |

There's few things more annoying than people assuming that any and all dissenting opinions are invalid and shallow. You like it, cool, whatever. Doesn't mean you have to go around making baseless accusation about the motives of those who don't. |

The only problem I have is that I am like 60 hours into the game with only 31% trophies =D Mortal Kombat, oh God, I'm like 350 hours into it with 88% trophies Thats my only problem, but its nothing to complain about |

I actually like that you can’t level grind. In past games if I got stuck I would just level grind and walk through the boss fight with ease. Now I have to stop and think how can I play better using what I already have. Especially some of the early 2 person fights like against Odin. FF-XII was also one of my favorites. Loved the story and since I’m not a fan of random encounters I really liked the format. My only problem was that at the end I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters. Other favorites include I, IV, VI, VIII, X. Feel free to hate as I have no love for VII. |
