Best Port of Doom?
KaiserWAVE:
You're welcome. Wiki is right, Doom³ and Resurrection of Evil both work on a 360 and they look and sound great on that system.
Nightmare difficulty really is for the people who know the levels by heart. And very few people beat it on Nightmare. To finish the game on Nightmare you pretty much have to do a speed run through the levels because on Nightmare the enemies are faster, shoot faster and roughly every 30 - 45 seconds they respawn. Health packs and ammo do not though :) Imagine fighting a Cyberdemon or a room fulll of Arachnotrons or Barons of Hell and a minute later they are all respawned. The enemies don't deal more damage on Nightmare than they do on Ultra Violence. So the ultimate challenge is to play through the game on Nightmare but it is way more stress and frustration than it is fun. I gave up on it about 9 levels into Doom and I won't ever try it again because I don't want to ruin the experience :)
Ultra Violence still is very challenging but a lot more fun.
I dare anyone who thinks he can play Doom on Nightmare to play Doom II's 8th level "Tricks and Traps". That's where I gave up :) If you can beat this level and still want to play on Nightmare you just might be able to get to the end.
