Hi everyone, i just registered  :)

So, I wanted to organize my gb games with a DS case, but unfortunately I live in Italy (Europe) and its pretty hard, nearly impossible to find those damn DS cases with GBA slot. I checked on eBay and other sites but I think you know better than me that if you dont live in America you won't have them (or maybe yes, but 40 EUR shipping lol?)

So..after some failed attempts with other cases, I finally found what's better for GB cartridges.

COMPACT CASSETTE CASES!

Yea! Finally i know a better use for them! They are pretty small and the game fits perfectly even with plastic Nintendo case, that's awesome  ;)
You only need to cut those two plastic "pivots" (I used Google translator hope u get me) and you're done

Also, since the case is small the ink you will need to print the cover will be less  ;D

(Version 1.0) (2011)
Stretched image, overall "bad"

(Version 2.0) (2011)
Probably the best version, it's the most used worldwide (you can see tons of them on YT and Google Images) but still has some little defects

(Version 3.0) (2012-2019)
Better version of the 2.0, at the moment the one used by me, reduced the amount of ink needed to print, basic white background, proper codebar, copyrights and logos on the back. Added layout for NDS, 3DS and Switch games.

How to modify the case

Im working on my gb games covers for now. I don't know if this topic could help someone.. I just wanted to give to european users an idea IMHO better than stocking the cartridges in a NDS case! And this is cheaper!

So yeah, maybe if a lot of users are interested we could open a dedicated section, or I dont know...otherwise, just enjoy my pics :)

That's a very creative idea, you are very resourceful. The games look and fit very nice. :)

Score one for creativity  ;)

Will the game manuals fit into the cassette cases, too?

I'm in the US, but the sizes should be comparable.

Uhm no, the manuals don't fit :( Maybe if you bend them...Buty I prefer have them all in one big case, rather than bend  :-\

Wow, I think I'll use those instead of DS cases from now on! Do you have any more covers other than Pokemon Red and Tetris?

Now im trying to do a better print with a glossy paper because the common A4 looks too opaque and "fake", i want it looks like a real official cover (like DVD movies ones), but im having troubles because im using an inkjet and it "drools" to much on glossy paper. So i need to fix this first of all :| Obviously if you have suggestions just tell me  ;D

Also, need to edit a bit covers, they are 2mm shorter in height  :-\

I use Semi-gloss photo paper from HP. Result is about the same as original NES boxes.

If you want official looking DVD covers use 120g/m3 brochure paper.
