Mario Galaxy 2 Story

mariocaseman:
What's the deal with the Mario galaxy games?  It seems their storyline is nearly identical....  Do the events of the two games take place 1000 years apart?  I'm very confused.
Doom:
The deal is Nintendo spent even less time than usual on the story for a Mario game. And you'll be glad, because Mario Galaxy 2 is damn near perfection.

I've had that game since release, but still have not played it.
Maybe I should start.  ;D
Anubis:
If you played the first one, you must play it; and if you didn't, you must play it too :P It's one of the best Wii games and, in my opinion, the top in graphics for the Wii. I played it about a year ago and some Stars were hard to reach. The only thing I hate about the game is that Mario-head spaceship.
About the storyline, I'm not sure what it is about because I can't remember it, but if I'm not wrong, Miyamoto said that the storyline wasn't important in a Mario game, so it's very probable that you find strange things in it.
