  • Think off-center.
I don't like the digital downloads (PSN/XBL). If I can't hold it I don't own it. That's how i feel about it.

i agree fro the most part but dont feel like paying through the nose to get some games that are availible on PSN sides i could always put them on their own PSP memory card and make a case and cover for them

I have a PSP, PS3 and a 360....only game I ever downloaded was Castle Crashers.  If they would make some good old Saturn games for one or both companies downloadable selections I might actually buy some (Guardian Heroes with online multiplayer would be AWESOME!)

While it's not an RPG, I'd check out the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle for Trine (pay what you want!). It reminds me a lot of the first Fable atmosphere wise. Fun puzzle platformer.

Soul Blazer
Phantasy Star 3 & 4
Breath of Fire 1 & 2
Shining Soul
Summon Night

Here's what I can tell you about what's listed:

Soul Blazer is an action RPG that's considered to be part of a loose trilogy. While I think it's the weakest of the three, it is fun. If you like that, go for Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma (though you might have to get a repo cart for Terranigma).

Any of the Phantasy Star games prior to Phantasy Star Online are more old school dungeon crawler mazes. Good if you're into that sort of thing. You can get them in the Phantasy Star Collection as well.

Breath of Fire 1 & 2 are okay on the GBA, but I prefer to play them on their original consoles.

Shining Soul is fun, but it's more fun with multiplayer. It's a dungeon crawler with LoZ fighting style.

Summon Knight: Swordcraft Story is an awesome game that I feel not many people gave a chance. It's also dungeon crawling, but the actual fights are like a more action-paced Tales of Symphonia. SK:SS2 is more of the same. Summon Knight: Twin Age (for the DS) is a completely different game. Plays different, story's different, everything's different. But get the GBA games. I never regretted that choice.

As for any other suggestions, you could look into Megaman Battle Network. Just make sure you skip part 5 (as it plays more like a strategy game, which is exactly what you don't want). And get both Golden Sun games. The story requires both games.

with any luck the kid at Gamestop will be able to help me grab Summon Night 1, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, and FF IV for GBA (all for less than $20) So long as Summon Night arrives at his store by Saturday.

You're missing Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube.

What about the Arc the Lad collection for PS1?

Since you Lunar SSSC and Lunar 2 EBC by Working Designs -- it's almost[ criminal not to have another RPG series given amazing treatment by WD.

Glad to see Playstation 1 - Grandia is on your list. My copy arrived today, its in mint condition. It's like my favourite PS1 rpg game. Enjoyed it way more than my FF games. Cant wait to get home and scan the covers for my thread. GG.

For some reason I am under the impression that arc the lad on ps1 is tactical
Yep. Tactical.

Though I agree Working Designs treated their fans well when they released a game. I LOVE Alundra.....too bad the sequel sucks so badly.
