Well, it will be interesting to see if this is a legitimate auction and what they sell for, unlike the similar NES auction that was pulled before the end.

It's the same seller that had the "Complete NES" collection for sale on EBAY previously. It's marked as Private Sale" which I guess means if he has a better offer elsewhere he can pull it. I don't know ..... never sold anything on EBAY so I may be wrong......

It would be extremely cool to have the complete collection, but man, you would have a lot of crappy games taking up space and never getting played.

Well,
my opinion, I think its a bogus auction, I will be surprised if it runs to conclusion.
I did not realize it was the same guy from the NES auction.......

He posts on DP.

What does that mean?

I think this auction won't run to the end too.... It will be the same as with the NES auction... The bids will go up up up and then down down and then it will be ended before time runs out....

I didn't realize it either that it was the same guy as with the NES auction but in that case it's highly suspicious....

This guy is a regular poster over at digitpress.com He is known for having an extensive Nintendo collection.

There's a small interview about his SNES collection on eBay here http://www.gamesniped.com/category/snes/

I have no doubt that this is a legit auction.

I'm not quite sure what goes on in the minds of people who own every game in existance for a single system. I've been collecting games literally since I was a small child but I don't have anywhere close to complete set of                                           games for any one system. Because let's face it - the majority of games for a system aren't all that great. You buy and own the games that truly are remarkable and leave it at that. With the excpetion of Radio Allergy, I consider my collection of Gamecube games to be complete, and I only own 53 games as opposed to the 600 or whatever number of games there are.

Same with people who download ROMS enmass. Owning every single NES ROM doesn't make you a hotshot. It just makes you someone who owns a load of mostly crappy rom files.

Thats my rant for tonight.
Cheers!

The only system that I have close to all the games is my Sega Dreamcast, with a whopping 80 games... unforunately there were 250 US releases so i'm still below 50%... but it is the closest I have to the max amount of games.

I've got the same amount of gamecube games(50+) but I always find one or another which I didn't know off and which is not bad at all....

I've just started widening my collection on japanese games.... :)

tiktektak, any suggestions for Japan-only GC games that are worth importing?

  • ...and that's the bottom line
If you're interested in fighting games the definitely Bleach. The best fighting game on Gamecube! Battle Stadium D.O.N is also great and lots of fun.

Donkey Konga 3 is also worth more than just a look.

Ok some I picked up in my list because of various thoughts(Some may be playable, some because of the awesome style, some because I'm a RPG maniac)....

1) Bomberman Land 2 => Playable I suppose
2) Generation of Chaos Exceed => Gorgeous RPG but unfortunately not playable without knowledge of the japanese language
3) Homeland => See 2)
4) Hudson Selection Vol.1-Vol.4 => Classic games rereleased(Lode Runner, Star Soldier, Bonk's Adventure, Adventure Island
5) Shaman King: Soul Fight! => Nice 3d fighter
6) Tengai Makyo II: Manjimaru => Another nice RPG originally released for the PC Engine Super Cd2
