How do you keep your collection clean?

Mick Dundee:

My PS3 is COVERED in dust.....when I get around to playing it again I will dust it then. Or my wife will clean and notice the glossy black is a faded gray and take care of it.

360 gets a bit more attention though. All the other systems are away, in boxes or drawers.

When I get an older system I try to clean as much of it as possible.

If its cartridge based and i feel confident enough i will take it apart completely and go at each piece with windex, goo gone and Ammonia for the connectors.

My top loader NES looks almost new after i got the crayon, marker and what im going to assume was gum from the cracks and crevices.

I used to have a used PS2 phat that would crap out on me every few months, so I opened it up and dusted the everliving crap out of it. That was the thickest mound of dust I've ever seen.

AppleQueso:

I just dust off the top of my ps3 every so often when I see that it's kinda dirty.

dust on glossy black things is ANNOYING

I try to dust about once a week, when I am cleaning everything. My PS3 seems to be the worst dust magnet. I dont really take apart systems to clean them, except when I got my Dreamcast and Magnavox Odyssey 2. I had to take them apart to clean them because there was some crazy sticky funk on them.

I still hope to take a weekend here and clean all my cart-based games. Any suggestions though on cleaning the connectors to the consoles?

Exactly what shenske said! ;D
