Do you do weekly dusts? How thorough do you make them? Take every game/item down and dust individually? Clean out your consoles? Take them apart and clean out internal dust every once in a while?

I personally keep a medium sized Therapure Air Purifier in front of my entertainment center.  Just run it on low, it is nearly silent, and does an AMAZING job at keeping the dust off your consoles.  I use the smaller one near my games.  Problem solved

I don't dust nearly enough. Too be honest I dust after I move a console and notice an outline around the system ....speeking of ... I should probably dust that.  :P

Well right now I only have the 360 out, and that moves with me a lot. I also got a new shelf. So no dust for a little while.

I got most of my consoles in "dust safe" glass cabinets. The consoles which are out are dusted once a week.

The majority of my collection is in my collection room and is dusted only once in a while but because this room is always kept shut and not too much frequented by any other persons than me the dust there is not as bad as in the living room for example.

My PS3 is COVERED in dust.....when I get around to playing it again I will dust it then. Or my wife will clean and notice the glossy black is a faded gray and take care of it.

360 gets a bit more attention though. All the other systems are away, in boxes or drawers.

When I get an older system I try to clean as much of it as possible.

If its cartridge based and i feel confident enough i will take it apart completely and go at each piece with windex, goo gone and Ammonia for the connectors.

My top loader NES looks almost new after i got the crayon, marker and what im going to assume was gum from the cracks and crevices.

I used to have a used PS2 phat that would crap out on me every few months, so I opened it up and dusted the everliving crap out of it. That was the thickest mound of dust I've ever seen.

I try to dust about once a week, when I am cleaning everything. My PS3 seems to be the worst dust magnet. I dont really take apart systems to clean them, except when I got my Dreamcast and Magnavox Odyssey 2. I had to take them apart to clean them because there was some crazy sticky funk on them.

I still hope to take a weekend here and clean all my cart-based games. Any suggestions though on cleaning the connectors to the consoles?

My Sega Saturn is the reason I bought the air purifier.  I don't need to clean it anymore because the air purifier keeps the dust away.  As for NES, SNES, N64 Carts, I keep them in the Universal Game Cases thanks to this website so there is no more need to dust them.  I have used 70% Alcohol to clean NES carts with a Q-tip.  Works like a charm for me.  I do use the top-loader NES console which is a lot more reliable too.

My slim PS2 has some dust on it. I try to clean the outside every few months or so.
