Yet Another Dreamcast Cover Project

I've been doing my own Dreamcast covers for a while now, but recently I changed my template (in itself one I modified from this site), and have been redoing them in a much higher quality. The goal here is simply to create attractive (mostly by my standards; I don't find the white curve to translate well to a DVD case) DVD covers using the original artwork as much as possible, instead of alternate artwork. The covers will be using a blue swirl not to reflect the PAL region, but simply because I find it to be a more Sega color than orange.

Currently, the only color scheme is a blue swirl on a white background. Eventually I hope to also create a blue swirl on a black background, orange on black and blue on black, just to meet different personal preferences. I probably won't be submitting them to the site, as when I first posted regarding these covers back when I registered, I was told something to the effect that since it was a non-standard template, I should also be creating versions of the covers that fit the more accepted templates. So, this thread will be their home.

I've been housing the covers in white DVD cases, and they look great on the shelf.

I'll be posting new covers with an unknown frequency. I've got several others done in my newer style, but I want to do some touch-ups to them.

Retail covers:
ChuChu Rocket!
Daytona USA
The King of Fighters - Dream Match '99
NFL 2K2
Phantasy Star Online Ver.2
Project Justice - Rival Schools 2
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica

Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge For Matching Service
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Unreal Tournament
Virtua Fighter 3tb
Virtua Tennis
Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram (NTSC-J)

If anyone can provide a high res scan of the back for me to work with, I'd appreciate it. My scanner simply isn't of a high enough quality to provide workable scans, even with the post-processing guides that users have posted.

First, your template looks good. I also think that blue is the Sega color of choice.

But here's something I want to clarfiy:

Creating covers using our established templates is NOT mandatory. It's just a gentlemen's agreement. We embrace and appreciate everyone's creativity. That's what makes our community so great, all the different ideas. So you could make as many templates and as many projects as you like, as long as the quality is up to par no one will stop you.
We've been using some of the templates for quite some time now and there are people who have converted their whole library of PS1 or DC games to one template, to make it look uniform. So by courtesy most people should consider creating a version of their cover using one of our templates. But again it is NOT mandatory. Once your cover is up people could easily request a conversion to another template or do it themselves.

That would be quite an undertaking, since my template has pretty different dimensions... I don't mean to be a jerk to opt out of this gentlemen's agreement, but I can make my PSD files available to people who do want to convert them to another format. I have a nasty habit of not labeling my layers, but, if you're determined you can figure it out  :P

This came out pretty crappy, but, I'm not really a fan of the game and it needed a case. It's fine if you don't look too hard, but I got tired of working on the details and just threw the rest together. This one had been a long time coming, and I want to work on other games.
