Finally got some of these cases and printed some test covers.
The color is a bit too dark from the printer at officemax but they still came out pretty good.
I also tried kinkos where the color looked a lot better but quality of the print there was bad do to older printers I think.

Here they are in between some games

This is likely how I will use the case. got my manuals in cd plastic sleeve on the bottom of case and game in first page.

Here is a case with the binder rings cut out so entire jewel case can fit.

Again a case with the binder rings cut out so entire jewel case can fit.

I mentioned in the dvd thread that I was working on the 8dp CD concepts..
I just finished remaking some of the logos yesterday and whipped up some renders
Suggestions and critz welcome.
The orange turbo font was only on 2 CD games that I know of and those were Fighting Street and Monster Lair although these where the green color on the TG logo. Then they switched to the color coded these had boxes; I think about one third of the CD games are these. Finally they switched to the super/cd rom logos and just sold them in the CD cases alone.

I'm still going to have to print these out to see how they look and I don't have a printer atm
also I would have to finalize them and optimize the template and make any changes so it will be a little while before they are available.

Edit: made some of the pictures links to help page load faster

Absolutely love it! Seeing more TruboGrafX pop up from you makes me want to start looking into expanding my collection of these  Grin

One of these days i'll have to show you what i do with your covers for my personal collection. I use a very small and obscure case so i have never shown them on the site.

Keep it up  Smiley

Me too.  I use a mini DVD (8cm) case.

These poly cases look great though!

These cases, with your covers, look gorgeous!
I just ordered a 10-Pack of these cases, that you recommended:
http://www.meritline.com/8-disc-dvd-multi-pack-black-case---p-45030.aspx

Are they still the right size, for your covers?

The "Add a black border" tip is a great idea, even for those of us who use Guillotine-Style, or Rotary-Style, paper cutters, instead of scissors.

Yeah those are the right ones.

Smiley It looks like there is room in the case even with the boarder so maybe I will change these to have the boarder by default.
That should help ensure the colored boarder stays uncut.

mini dvd case? interesting

small and obscure case? also interesting and mysterious   Grin

I use a case that uses the same x-y ratio as a DVD case but is a small fraction of the size. Very similar to Vita cases.

Mine are the same ratio as a DVD case too, slightly smaller than a vita case.  Will take some snaps today and post them.

Did this thing ever come with a case?

Well, either way, now it can have a nice home in an 8-Disk Poly Case!  Grin

Variants of cover art, that are based on whatever I post, are always welcome.  Wink

If any of you wanna make one of those nice 3D Preview pics of this, and e-mail it to me, I'll edit this post, and use it to replace the current preview pic.

If one of you guys scans and posts (or e-mail em' to me) the US and/or Japanese cover art, and case inserts, for the Super System Card, I'll make covers for them, too.

The Front cover isn't the best quality, and the Japanese Text was generated via Google Translate (I apologize in advance, native speakers).
I needed something to act as a temp cover for my Super System Card, so I made this.

Download: 8DPC_PC_Engine_Super_CD_System_Card_3.0_Rev_A.rar

I'll make a new revision, when someone posts good scans of the original cover art.

Was the template ever made available?  This project was what got me started in Poly8 cases and it would be excellent if we could pound out a more complete collection with Ektophase's fantastic cover design.

First I should tell anyone new that is reading the last few post’s on this page. The mini dvd case topic got forked over to here http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=12678.0  (encase your wondering what happen)

I’m glad there is interest in these even though its taking me a long time to get them going. I should have posted a small update a while back. The template was not made available yet(sorry for the wait). The CDs concepts from last year did help me come up with a few minor changes to the back of the template. I also finally got a decent printer/scanner recently and after running some test decided to rescan my covers for these since the new scanner has nicer looking scans with more accurate color. I’m also going to print these out to get them more consistent before I upload. I’ve been doing more advanced color correction than I did on on the DVD covers and the ones I’ve printed so far are nicer than I was expecting. I’ll try and go into printing details more later.

Currently I am trying to get a good chunk of covers (around 20) ready for an update. I am contemplating one change to the template still and I also have to order some more printer ink for test covers. Hopefully in a month or so I should have the template and some covers final.

Any DVD covers I get done lately usually means the 8dp version is ready Wink

I should also break my 8dp dl links so people don’t use the old covers..

Small update, getting close, should have my cover pack ready soon now.

Got 100 pack of 8dps (6dps in this case) from supermediastore for about 50 shipped.

Also finally got some printer ink today for some test prints. (price of ink Sad )
Here is a shot of some of the covers.
I will be using these unless there is something really wrong with them but may do some slight tweaks to the finals.
Gonna have some fun cutting these out..
