Haha, so right now I'm in the process of mutilating two DS cases in order to make a case that will fit the original GBC Pokemon Pinball. (Pics to come later.) The entire time I'm using a "safety glass scraper" to carve into the cases, and I'm saying to myself "this is extremely unsafe, this is extremely unsafe, why am I doing this?" Well, I get through about 98% of the cutting work when my hand slips... The razor digs into my fingertip, and I jump up and pull the razor away so fast that there's not even any blood on it yet. ...Then the bleeding starts... And continues... And I'm frantically running around my dorm, trying to hold pressure on this thing, it was a nightmare. The razor must have gone pretty deep, because if I stopped applying a LOT of pressure to my finger, I bled FAST. Almost called 911 before I found some gauze and medical tape. (Thanks to my dad for insisting I bring some embarrassing first-aid kit to college with me. :D )

Well, while I'm going through gauze after blood-soaked gauze, I'm going some quick Google searching and stumble upon a Yahoo! Answers question what someone responded to saying to use Super Glue to stop the bleeding. Before I did any more reading, I got out my Loctite Super Glue, ran my finger under the water, and while holding pressure on it, I poured some Listerine on it as an antiseptic, and immediately applied the Super Glue to the outer layer of skin. I blew on it for a while until I was sure it was dry, then I stopped applying pressure....

...It stopped! :o The Super Glue worked like a charm! So, after the storm blew over, I did more research. Turns out Super Glue was used during the Vietnam war by soldiers to close wounds on the fly. Who knew?

So, being that this injury was TCP-inflicted, I was wondering if I'm the only fool on this forum who has lost a few pints over their video game collection. :P Tell me your horror stories!  ;D

Shit, my friend cut open his arm with a huge piece of glass, it was bleeding BADLY, he patched that shit up with super-glue and didn't have any more problems out of it. Didn't got to the hospital or anything.

His scar looks crazy, it's like half an inch thick and runs all the way down his arm.

Holy damn hell, that makes my experience sound like a flesh wound!! That's insane. I don't know if I would trust Super Glue with something that serious.... But, apparently it still works!

After finding this out, man, I'm NEVER going to consider a first aid kit complete without a bottle of Super Glue.

Hell, I've done it. I was sitting in the student lounge, using the razor from my box cutter (standard grocery retail box cutter). Of course, I wasn't using the whole box cutter, just the razor, and no means of protecting my hands. I cut the tip of my index finger on the back of that razor blade from the amount of pressure I was applying. I simply cursed, stuck my finger in my mouth, and went to the nearest office staff member, asking for a band-aid with a finger still in my mouth.

The department head, who was the one available, saw the small, but bleeding, cut, and tells me to just keep it in my mouth. Eventually I got my bandage though.

As a RPN I must warn you.

I would be very carefull with Super Glue, as if even small blob gets to your blood circulation, it is attacked by white bloodcells as a foreign object, and it will cause blood clot, which might travel to heart or lungs and cause an embolism, which is very fatal and fast.

Or you might just glue a blood vessel shut, which leads to blood not getting to you fingers, which will the turn black and die.

Not to scare you, but be carefull.  ;)

He was just lucky that he did not cut so deep, that he had hit a nerve.

Musckles heal, nerves not so well (or not at all).

I havent had much issue. I usually use rotary cutters to slice and cut. I have gotten burned from my dremel tool motor burning out though.

Now that I think, actually yes several times.

Papercuts, games falling from shelves, hit few times my fingers with hammer while putting up shelves, and so on ...

Yes I'm clumsy  ;D
