I need to get my cases so I can get the dimensions first. Only a few more hours and I'll be off work, hopefully they arrived!

Loving the idea, Japanese Saturn games would work well, too. But I'm getting ahead of myself.  ::)

Looking forward to the template, Shenske

Just got my cases! Woo Hoo, i've been messing around with them and they are awesome!  The manual does fit in the cd spot and the soft cd holder sleeves are removable inside the case. I'll have a bunch of pictures in greater detail soon!  ;D

EDIT:
Dimensions of the insert are 3690 3670 x 1560, much more info to come!

EDIT #2:
The PS1 portion of the template is almost complete, Dreamcast may have to wait until tomorrow (or the next day) after work

Cool, yeah how are they? do they seem... not cheap?
what do they look like compared to a dvd and cd case.

I think some one said in a review that cds are tight in the sleeves is that true?

1: No, i don't think they are cheap at all. Sure there are more durable dvd type cases out there but these are definitely not bottom of the barrel by any means. I'd rate them 7.5/10 on build quality.

2.  I'll have pictures up later when i connect my iphone to my computer. The case is slightly taller and about 1/2" deeper than a ds case if that gives you any idea.

3.  They are only tight if you decide to put the discs on both sides of each insert. If you only use one side of the insert it fits just fine.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Shenske my friend, I love you man :)

Though I will never replace my lovely blue PAL Dreamcast jewel cases,  the second your first PS1 cover pops up here, I'll try to get some of the cases and replace my PS1 jewel cases :) At least in Europe there are 3 or 4 different variations of the PS1 jewel case and it's driving me nuts because they look very odd on the shelf.

In your distant plans for the PS1 template, will you do a grey version to? Or just the black one. I think I would like to switch all my PS1 games to the grey template.

Being from a PAL region the grey template just doesnt seem right, grey template would have to be for the platinum version of the games, i think in the usa you got greatest hits insted with a green template?

Ok now that I've seen your covers I have to get some of these cases on my hands! Sadly I'm still in need of a job to support this lovely addiction of mine ;)

Edit: You guys think these cases would be a suitable alternative to DS cases? If anything I think it might be easier to fit some bigger games in these (Warioware Twist/E-reader/Mario Party E) with a bit less modification needed than DS cases.

I'd say DS cases are better for two reasons.
1. They hold carts in place better
2. Less wasted space. Important for collertor freaks like me.

As much as I want to convert to these cases for my PS1, DC, and TG16 games, I think I might have to pass. Im not liking the idea of them beeing thicker than standard DVD cases so it would take more space that Im already getting short on.

These are soooooooooo sexy. Lovely template. Can't wait to see what you do with Dreamcast!!

If nobody wants to make a TG16/CD template for this, then I'd be more than happy to give it a shot.

Just do it, worst that can happen is it get rejected, you get ridiculed and you have wasred lot of time...  ;D

No seriously do it, maybe it becomes the most used one. You never know unless you try.
