Everyone (incuding yourself) has the ability to clean up and/or create covers. You just have to try ... practice makes perfect

I should really make that tutorial 

Depends on what you are trying to do.  If you know specifically what you are trying to fix the youtube or google it.  There is great support all over the net and basic photoshop tutorials.  I know thats not very detailed on how to fix images but its hard to guess what problem you are running into. The best way to fix a cover is duplicate the image ans a lot of trial and error.

Remember that you can never increase the resolution from a small image!  If its a bad low rez picture delete it from your memory because it is unusable.

Thats your problem right there ... YOU"RE USING MS PAINT! Never Ever use MS PAINT for anything!
Photoshop is not something you "figure out" in a day.  It takes a very long time to know photoshop inside and out and i honestly i don't know everything about the program.  If you are not using the correct tools you will not be able to make a good cover. Give photoshop another try. There is a reason why photoshop is so widely used ... its the best. (ok ok fireworks is pretty good too  )

Hey, I'm pretty good at MSPaint. It gets the job done. Even if it's not professional looking, lol.

I'm a slow learner but I keep at it with photoshop. You have my respect for being able to do what you and others have done.

Problem with MS Paint is that when you press save, the image is immideadly turned into 96DPI and f***ed up.
So no matter how good you are, it is impossible to make good enough images to this site.
