Go for it! While your at it go for the s-video mod also. Big F*$@!#G difference!

SUCCESS!! That was pretty damn easy. Im still gonna give the Model 2 a try sometime soon. Im up for the challenge and its good practice. Might have to give that S-Video mod a try sometime. Fuck coax cables! ;)
Heres the Genesis in action running Golden Axe III (the whole reason I did this mod):
And heres where I mounted the throw switch. Seemed like the most practical place to put it:
No more Game Genie region lock out code for me and now Im totally converting my second copy of Golden Axe III to a Red Template version!;D

Composite cables are pretty cheap...
s-video is better though
Grumbleduke:
You could use an RGB/Scart cable through a Scart to Component converter. It gives a far superior picture quality to S-video and you would'nt have to mess about modding the Genny. Downside is buying a scart lead and converter though.
Arseen:
Few questions:
1: So after these modifications it runs all games from all regions flawlessly , no exeptions, right?
2: How high percentage of the games turn into English after the language switch mod?
3: Japanese carts are bit bigger than EU and US, so using Jap MD would eliminate the need of largening the cart opening?
4: Will RGB-scart + component converter give better picture quality than RGB-scart alone?
5: Will the mods allow use of MCD and 32-X games from all regions aswell?
