Well we finally get to see what the new cases will look like.  Looks like they're a little smaller and a different color than the current DS cases.

Thoughts?

P.S.  Is it weird to be excited about this?

It's totally not weird to he excited about this! I can't wait to see how the NTSC-U covers look like. I know it will be similar but I still can't wait. I'm glad the decided to keep the cases about the same size but just thinner, that way it still looks nice next to my current ds games. Can't wait to see more!

The first link doesn't work. Also, why are there so many holes in the case?

I may not enjoy the flimsiness of eco-cases but I'm a fan of the gesture. 'Cause recycling's cool.

Looks pretty rad. At least they tried to make the eco-cases look decent. I like how the case actually gives most of the real estate to the cover art and doesn't look like it'll clash too much either. Hope the old DS cases don't become too rare any time soon though.

On the subject of Kotaku...I can't stand their site redesign. Meh.

Plastics are recyclable, but I don't expect people to recycle their cases. I just meant that I'm a fan of the idea of using less plastic to achieve the same end-product. It's more efficient.

But that's just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure these won't make into Europe, as consumer laws state that stuff has to withstand normal use. and those covers seem to be bad for the coverpapers, so Nintendo would have to be replacing them as they got punctured due to the holes.
