OK. Education Time.
Firstly for Warlock, there are very few consoles older than the NES, and most of those that are were still selling in 1984 when the NES was released (Although the video game crash of 83 put a dent in the market for the previous consoles).
The NES was only really big in Japan and the USA as far as I can remember, Europeans, South Africans, Australians and New Zealanders all prefered keyboards attached to their gaming machines (along with the 5 minute loading times of tapes). Computers such as the Vic 20, C64, Amstrad CPC Series, and Sinclairs were the go, and later Amigas became popular (with the odd Atari ST thrown in for good measure). Computers ruled in these countries after the console crash of 83.
Anyway, the following "old" consoles were actually released after the NES (ie. the NES is more prehistoric than): Atari 7800, Atari XE, Amstrad GX4000, Amiga cd32, and Sega Master System. Even the Atari 2600 Mark II was released after the NES (2yrs later in fact)!
My Collection of consoles consists of:
Grandstand SD090 (Sadly no longer working)

I hope the links help to educate some of the younger folk. Man, I can't believe at 35 that I could feel old. Then I remembered that when I graduated high school (actually, even after four years at Uni) Windows wasn't even heard of. Sigh. Tired of young kids who are wizzes at VB and SQL asking me how to set up a partition in DOS (What do they teach them these days....IT graduates asking and Engineer about basic IT!!!). And Valeman, I was 6 when Star Wars came out so you'd better watch out for my 3 year old banana peels, they might still be slippery when you get to them

hmm, we need a tongue in cheek smiley.
Now I need an Amiga CD32, Neo Geo, and Atari Jaguar...If I ebay them, they will come.
