Hi everyone, I don't know if this question has already been asked but didn't found any answer, but does a NTSC PS3 system reads PAL games? I found the Prince of persia trilogy game in PAL version and the store doesn't offer any garantee and the casheer didn't seem to know if it worked.
Thanks to anyone who answers to my question

I am 80% sure the ps3 is region free. I've never bought imports myself, but I have read people importing games for their ps3.

Actually a US citizen, but the US playstation id's look like crap :(

Playstation 3 has region lock-out option for games, but to my knowledge no PS3 game uses it. (99.9999999% sure).

PS1 and PS2 games and DVD and BR movies however do use the region lock-out on PS3.

It's on a game by game basis. Try and look up the game first, but generally it will work. (And in a few months, PS3 hombrew will make it work.)

I have an Asian region PS3. I have U.S/E.U/JP and Asian games, all of which work perfectly, including stuff from PSN. I have about 5 movies, all Region B/2 and they all play fine. HOWEVER, only JP PS1/PS2 and Asian region DVD's will play. And all JP/U.S and Asian games i loaned out to mates who have E.U PS3's work fine on their machines (phew  ;)). Take from that what you will...

i import tons of games and blu-rays (psp is region free too so everyone should buy gundam battle universe ;))

i have never encountered a game that doesnt work, but for blu-ray, some are region locked, and some are technically not regionlocked but run at a different frequency than US players, and you just get a stupid error...

the region issues with blu-rays is getting more and more common these days
