This is a cover project to convert the Dreamcast CD cases to the Amaray DVD-style CD cases. The CD cases are thinpak styled, and are 5.2 mm thick.

I've created a template, and this is an example -

Link to the cases for sale:

Clear: http://www.meritline.com/5mm-clear-single-dvd-case-sleeve-short-version.html

White: http://www.meritline.com/white-slim-pp-cases.html

Black: http://www.meritline.com/compact-disc-case-compact-cases.html

The goal of this project is for them to look the same. I've created guides in the template for you to be able to easily fit your images onto.

IMPORTANT!
-Center your text, by clicking on the "Move Tool" in Photoshop (After you've typed your title) and moving the title up or down until the center of the body of the text is lined up with the center guide.

-Save your project at 300dpi, (default DPI already) and 12 "quality". And upload your finished work to Megaupload.com or some other hosting site to contribute. Thanks!

And now, the templates:

Man, I really like your enthusiasm and your ideas (and of course your Photoshop skills). This project is great for people who want to preserve the original look of the covers, and there's enough people here who want just that! :) I hope this picks up.

Definitely a lot easier than DVD covers.

All of these great ideas!! We need organization!  ;)

Whats the need for a template? Is it not the same dimensions as a the original cover art (besides the spine)? If not is it proportionally bigger/smaller?

Cyrix, for me its just easier to deal with a template, because with a template you can.

A. Line up the front, side and back with the guides.
B. Retype the side, for clearer font
C. Created a photoshop action to do all the work for you.
D. Use any size image, and cut and splice if needed to make it fit to exact specifications
E. Cut off a couple mm on all sides to remove all rough edges

I mean, you CAN half-ass it... but why not make them matching, orgainized, and precise?  Not all side logos and text are in the middle, if you like clarity and uniformity, you might as well just retype them all yourself.

I know a lot of people on this site like the cases to perfectly be like the originals in every way shape and form, but for the others who want matching covers with excellent clarity that only vector graphics can give you (fonts on the side) - then this is the closest thing.  I personally cant stand printing out blurry text.
