pokemon has been a successful franchise in the late 90's it was cool at first and now it sucks im going to tell you what i think. it all started with the gameboy games red, blue. i had blue and yellow and i was addicted i had like 80 hours locked on to them then came the card game that was fun to i didn't play it so much i only collected them also the other merchandise they where cool (like toys books etc), then came gold, silver holy crap that was fun i think that gen 2 was the best gen(thats what i think) then ruby, sapphire came out, around that gen pokemon started to suck because you get pokemon with bad names that don't make any scene that don' look good its, still a good game but pokemon will be never the same POKEMON WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU :'( what do you think

Wow, I agree with you completely. The new games are fun but nothing like how the GB ones were. Its nice to know that somebody else notices how crappy the names and looks of the pokemon are getting with each new game. every pokemon looked great and had awesome names in the first generation, now theres only a handful of cool pokemon too choose from.

Have you seen the starters for the upcoming black & white games, I cant decide which one to start with, not because they all look good, but because they all look so damn goofy.

I admit, I got pretty sick of Pokemon after a while. My first game was Emerald though, so the R/S designs really didn't bother me. When Diamond/Pearl came out however, I just wasn't feeling it. I didn't like the designs as much, but my problem was that it was the same exact game over and over again. For some reason they got away with that for the G/S DS remakes. I absolutely love playing those. Black/White will be interesting though. I was ready to call HeartGold the last Pokemon I would play all the way through, but the new additions make it look like a worthwhile experience. It's also kind of awesome that none of the old Pokemon will turn up until after you finish the game, because seeing the same Pokemon mixed with the same gameplay was really annoying, especially in such a grind-y game.

I look past the designs of the Pokemon though. I find first and second gen are still my favorites, but it doesn't mean I'll refuse to skip out on some goofy ass designs when the gameplay is good. I do hate when I have to pay full price for a game that is no different than the last one, and I hated having to buy multiple versions of the game to "catch em all" (They remedied that with HG/SS to an extent though).
