My room has changed since the last time I posted pictures, so I figured I'd throw up a new version before Thanksgiving break ends. I'll also be using this to post new finds from garage sales and such rather than starting a new thread every time.

So, LETS GET STARTED WITH THE BLURRY CELL PHONE PICS

Overall view of the room. Yes I have flowery ass wallpaper. I don't own this house therefore I can't paint the walls to my liking.

Starting on the left we have my homemade shelf-o-stuff. On the top we have SNES and N64. The rest of the shelf goes PS1, PS2 plus PS1 games in a series (so I have FF/MGS/THPS all lined up sequentially), Xbox, Xbox 360. Games with white labels are ones I bought disc only and have yet to cover, while the ones in jewel cases are ones I've yet to cover but happen to have their original cases in tact. Sorry for blurry quality, but everything's on my Backloggery anyway.

Next we have my wall of music crap. Two amps, two RB1 guitar controllers, one GH3 controller, a keyboard, my drum brain, and a crappy starter guitar. The keyboard still needs a power adaptor, because currently it's running on 6 D batteries and when those run out I'm not buying more.

Here's the ION set again. This time with the 360 controller plugged in (I'm waiting for the Rock Band MIDI adaptor to come out...). My TV is placed so I can turn it to play drums or lay in bed, or turn it to be right next to my computer. The wires are color coded with rubber bands, and labeled with "DRUM" and "CYMBAL" to make switching from controller to drum brain relatively painless. The hihat is also on a real hihat stand, and I made a magnet switch out of Radioshack parts so I don't have to use a crappy hihat pedal.

Here's the mess at the bottom of the kit. There's just enough room for a stock RB pedal down there so I don't have to move everything when switching from game to just playing. The RB pedal is reenforced with cut up old rewriteable CD's, and weighed down with one of the handweights I use to keep the bass drum from shaking so much. The coiled cable tends to yank the pedal out from my foot otherwise. I play RB single pedal, but often use my second bass pedal just to keep beat on some songs where the half charted bass confuses the crap out of me.

Some of my consoles, as well as all my spare CD/DVD cases. There's a PS2 slim hiding between the N64 and 360, but it's hard to tell. Yes, my 360 is properly ventilated. All the holes are still out in the open, and I keep a fan behind all my consoles to minimize dust/heat buildup. I also have to point the fan directly at my N64's expansion pak when playing, as it overheats and freezes up very often.

The rest of my consoles. SNES that still needs a power adaptor, Intellivision that needs games, and a PS1. Shoebox full of loose covers is on the bottom. That Rock Band box actually has a crapload of empty boxes in it as well. PSP, GBA, Halo 3, etc.

A closer shot of my TV and computer together. This is most often how I play games. I generally use the speakers I have with my 360 when playing music games, but otherwise my TV's speaker is just fine.

The stuff directly to the right of my desk. Don't mock my music and DVD tastes too much, I honestly havet bought anything new since 8th grade. Most of my movie watching is done online now. The good CDs I keep in my car. The drawers have controllers/memory cards/etc in them, and the bottom two have chargers, audio/power cables and portable systems in them.

Back to the end of my room. Sadly I have no door, as my ceiling is slanted too low to even fit one in. Not that big of a deal. Anyway, I've got a Halo 3 helmet, a repainted kids' Iron Man helmet, and Iron Man slurpee cup, and some repainted Skullcandy headphones. Oh, and a turkey hat. Yeah.

LAST PICTURE! As you can see I'm running out of shelf space. PC games (most of them given to me, as I don't have a PC that runs anything better than Windows 93), one Dreamcast game, and Gamecube games are on the floor. Behind that is various manga/books (a collection which has not grown in years), and on top is all my PSP/DS/GBA/GBC games.

Well that's it. What do you guys think? All questions are welcome  :)

so tiny and cramped feeling, and just another reminder of why I need to hurry up and buy some extra shelves.

tiny guitar amps

...is that a crappy casio keyboard? I think I've got the same one somewhere

So cute collection of games.

Nice to see that my game room is not the only messy one.

Do you live in your parents' attic?

Why yes it is. It was a handmedown from someone who originally bought it at a garage sale, but works great :D

Not so much attic as just the second floor of the house. And heeeeey...I keep it as clean as I can with such little space. I need to build a new shelf and get a bigger room. I'm just scared that my mom will try to sell it all when I ship off to college.

Get a small job and rent out a small storage unit for your stuff if your parents selling it while you're away is a legitimate concern.

It's mostly the games I'm worried about. Thankfully the ones I won't be bringing to college won't take up more than a large cardboard box or two. If I can't afford storage I've got a trustworthy friend with a rather large basement who will be living at home.

Man I got that from my cousin ages ago. It was my first game console and it had to be turned upside down to work from the day I got it. Still love it though.

I might as well add that it turns out I'm getting Lego Rock Band, The Beatles Rock Band, and the Metal Track Pack for christmas. Ain't no RB3 but I'll be putting my drums to good use for a while. It's a shame the Beatles RB doesn't include drum fills though. Those are probably my favorite parts in RB, especially on slower songs.

  • Think off-center.
Nice set up, you can make the best of your limited space with some hints from this site www.lifehacker.com, they always have some space saving tips.

The time shall come when you get your own place and I look forward to the pics lol

My retro goodness has migrated to multiple rooms in my house now. Maybe I'll post up a topic eventually.

I ultimately want to have an SDTV for the classics, and something much higher res for everything else. I've had this tv as long as I've had my PS1.

Oh dear what have you done. Those two links will keep my OCD mind occupied for days now.  ;)

Switching to using a computer monitor would also be awesome. I only use Hulu for TV shows anyway. Shame they're a bit costly. Oh lack of job how I hate thee...
