friend of mine stumbled onto these and ordered a couple for himself. Anyone know much about them? From what I understand they're a tad thinner than original cases, which kinda defeats the purpose imo.

EDIT: got a couple of pics from said friend.

Jurassic Park is in a standard genesis case, Rocket Knight is a normal genesis insert in the new case. I guess the old inserts still fit. Looks like it uses a different plastic for the insert too... Up to you if you want to use these.

Any chance you could post some more pictures of it open and comparing it to an original case?

I am interested but would like some more to see before i decide on it :)

Yeah I really do have to wonder what the point of changing the dimensions is. If they're supposed to replace worn out genny cases, doesn't changing the size really miss the point?

Yup I just thought exactly the same when I saw that the dimensions are wrong.

Are those like the reatil ones in the inside at least?

And they only ship to the US  ::)

Just as well, they don't even have a hang tab .

I like to hang a few of the really nice ones up on the game wall, sort of the way people hang up bagged comics sometimes. Plus I just like the tabs being there, it's how I'm used to the Genesis boxes looking.

I always pull those hanger tabs off when I get cases that still have them.

Well, depending on what the insides look like, this could be another avenue for game gear games.....

But I would still like a picture of the inside with some sort of reference ie a genesis cart to gauge how it is on the inside.

Oh, correction, friend informs me that they DO have handles, they're just folded into the top of the case in that pic.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the Rocket Knight insert isn't a reprint, it's from the retail box, so Genesis inserts DO fit.

right one is the repro case

the "walls" that surround the cartridge itself seem to be shorter
