So, I just picked up Strider 2 for PlayStation 1 at my local game trading store. I put in the Strider 1 disc, because I wanted to play the prequel first. Press Start screen shows... Strider 2?  ???

"That's weird" I thought. So, I put in the Strider 2 disc, and the original Strider game starts up. So, I did a quick Google search and found out that during Capcom's first print of these games, they mislabeled the discs. They caught the mistake very quickly and changed the discs to be properly labeled in their next print of the game. Kinda cool, eh?

So, I was wondering how rare this is considered to be. Or, if there are any fellow collectors on the board who would be interested in buying it from me. Name your price.  :P

I dunno. That really depends if anyone at all is interested in such a mislaberled version. After all it is not to the owners advantage to have the same game two times instead of two. :P
2 + 3 = 23

No, there are still both games. Strider 1 is on the Strider 2 disc and Strider 2 is on the Strider 1 disc.

As for the number of error copies made, I'm not sure. I can hardly find information about it on the internet anywhere. The wikipedia article on states that it happened, not the number. I can't find anything else about it. I did see a closed auction on eBay for $300 for this version, though.  :o

Yeah, I remember mine beeing misprinted when I picked this up back when it first came out. My buddy has a copy of this game too and his is a misprint aswell. Ive never seen a copy that had the disks printed properly. As far as I know the misprint copies arent anymore valuable than the corrected ones. If anyhting I would assume that the correctly printed ones would be worth more because there less common to come by and the misprinted disks always bothered me...

And sealed copies go for about $100 so dont get your hopes up that your misprint is worth $300  ;)

Agreed. Strider 2 does kick ass. Unfortunetly I traded mine away a loooong time ago so I just play it on my MAME emulator untill I get myself another copy. I actually have a Strider 2 cover that I started but never finished.
