Almost that time again yay, I'm hoping to have a better time than last year, UGH 2011. I actually went to an awesome party last year but the night itself was...yea UGH  :-X

I actually love Halloween, it's always been one of my favorite holidays, not for candy...ok my sweet tooth says otherwise, but it's always fun to come up with a new costume idea and hang out with friends. Also it's the perfect time of year for bets...yea I've lost every year, thank you weather for not being on my side and making me wear a cheerleader outfit...it was still fun thou, can't believe how skinny I am to fit into that damn thing.... ::)

Let's see what else, of course movies, like Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride , Sweeney Todd, The People Under The Stairs, and the Gaki no Tsukai Haunted Hotel episode is always fun to watch. Games, Mario Part 2 and Horror Land come to mind, 50 turn mayhem!

Speaking of Jack Skellington, Marilyn Manson version of This Is Halloween, freaked a few of the rednecks down here in Texas with that song....and my high school English teacher a few years ago...she swore I was evil, it's like really, I dress up as Ozzy Osbourne and yea, she was nuts.

Finally, it has sentential value to me, my dear lover, my best friend, his birthday was Halloween and he would have been 20 this year so keeping the memory alive as long as I live is something I cherish.

I'm working on making a cheep Link costume, I may have 2 parties to go to if all plans work out.
As for the costume, I'm modeling it after Ocarina of Time. I'm buying a Link hat off Amazon for $10, and getting some green fabric from Wal Mart for cheep. I'm going to wear a green shirt, an inside-out 1 up shirt to be exact, and I'm going to make the rest of the tunic out of the fabric, by making a skirt that gets held up by a belt, so It looks like a tunic, unless i find 2 cheep green T-shirts to wear and sew together. For the tights and white under shirt, White Long Johns, I may where white pants if I find any, I think I have a pair around here somewhere. I have some belts to use to in the costume. For boots, I have hiking boots to wear. No gloves.

As for the sward and shield I plan on taking These things:
(just the sward, not the shield)

And make this, plus a sward holder:

I'll post pics when I'm done.
I hope I find the white pants, so I can where this at school and quickly change into normal clothing if I need too, My school does not allow costumes, but that wont stop me.  ;D

I did Link last year, but I don't have any good pics of the finished product...

I made the hat from a cut-up green t-shirt. Wore a green tunic from a medieval fair. Made a shield from a cardboard box (based on the NES version, with a big yellow cross). Borrowed a friend's wooden Master Sword. Put on my Spock Ears...

The hair was the key point, though. When my hair has any length to it (which it did last year), it becomes a big poofy afro. Brush it in the right directions, tuck the rest under a hat, and BANG Old School Link hair.

Here's a couple pics I took with my 3DS when I was first testing the hair, before I had gone as far as making the hat and borrowing the sword and such, just to test the idea:

I love that the pics were taken on a 3DS! ;D

So, my haunted house, err garage, is about 95% done. I'll do a walk through video when it's complete (which freakin' better be tomorrow afternoon).   I'm pretty amped about it this year. Definitely the most complex I've done thus far, plus my last batch of homebrew beer is by far my best ever! :D

Thank gawd, 'cause the last three batches have all had some random ass issue that freakin' sucked :-\
