"Yeah ... scan everything at 300dpi .... just leave space on the outside of the case so I can align and crop correctly. SOMEONE put their cases on the edge of the scanner ... or left the "let the scanner do all the work" option on ... and his have cropped spines as a result. Meaning I have to try and correct them."

TheValeman, are you talking about me?

Hey .... it happened to me too for a while until I fugured out that my HP software in preview mode was getting too close to the edge of the scan. Screwed over some family photo's right royally I can tell you ..... resulting in a lot of rework.

So now I tell anyone who has cropped scans to leave space on the outside and do it manually rather than rely on the software to get it right.

No offense intended ... merely highlighting an issue  ;D

It happens to us all.

On the other hand, I am also happy if they make an attempt to get the scan straight....
Photoshop does a pretty good job straightening, but I grabbed a few raw ps1 scans that were scanned at like a 45 degree angle....
 :)

For those of us in the States, I found similar (if not the same) cases here: http://www.edgewise-media.com/p2~P~DVMR121B%2D100.htm

The measurements appear to be the same, but no mention of brand. Personally, I'd like to see these become the de facto standard for covers of CD games, since it ought to be less work than re-doing the artwork to fit onto a DVD case.

For those who want a visual, they're roughly the size of a Nintendo DS case (within 2mm each side). They're also nearly half as tall as a standard DVD case, which can go a long way towards getting the most out of your shelving.

The price is right as well, $18.59 + shipping for a case of 100. For me (located near seattle), that came to under $25 bucks to my door :D

Don't forget MookyJooky made a template for these, it's in the templates thread.

It'd be great if someone was to do a project like this. Not so much for the DC because I like my fat blue cases ;) but for the PS1.
I don't know about US games ( I have just one, Resident Evil 2 in a double jewel case) but EU games came in various different cases. I have 3 or 4 different case types in my collection, Doom is even in a double jewel case although it has just a single disc. So replacing them with the half-height cases is more than tempting. I got all my games scanned, some are already up on the site, the rest is buried deep in wshbrngr's HDD :)

I want to, and with my second arm now regaining strength, expect something at the end of December (read: the end of the night) :)
