Hey guys. I did a search of the forum, and I (surprisingly enough) only found this problem discussed about twice, so I'm going to try and put this out into the open, because I just gotta know.

What are you guys doing with your SegaCD/Saturn manuals!?!? I will never understand what Sega was thinking in going with those LOOOOONG boxes for their NTSC games, even after PlayStation did it and quickly realized how dumb it was. Now, I have all of these empty, custom DVD cases with no manuals in them, and a pile of loose manuals lying around and getting damaged.  :'(

So, what have you guys done to combat this problem? Would my only choices be to try and find replacement Sega CD/Saturn cases or, just cutting up my manuals to fit them into a DVD box? *cringe*

Thanks all!

Ive been meaning to open up a thread requesting scans for Sega CD and Saturn Manuals for this reason. What Im going to do is reprint all the manuals to DVD size manuals. And the good thing is the majority of the manuals are in black and white which will save on a ton of ink. The manual covers could be printed in colour but you could even go with black and white on those too if you wanted to. I actually already made a template in .psd if anyone is interested.

I found manual scans for the majority of my Sega CD games on emuparadise but havent found any for the Saturn.

I store all my SCD manuals in a separate box. If you do this, you Gota make sure it stays dry.

Also, I have PDF manuals for almost all the SCD U.S. releases (found a torrent with them a few years back)
If you have nothing to do... Don't do it here!

I would also love to have a template for Sega CD manuals!

Would we be able to have manuals hosted here, or does that fall into a gray area like with CD labels?

Heres the manual template:

Ive been pretty lazy and havent actually gotten around to bulding any of the manuals I need so if any one puts one together post it up, I might need it. ;D

I dont see any problem hosting original manual scans but I dont know that they'd be interested in hosting custom/modified manuals here.

Hmm, I'm still thinking about what to do with the real manuals.... I don't have any handy with me, so maybe one of you guys could try it for me, but could you just stuff a whole bunch on manuals into the extra space in a regular Sega CD case? I might just keep a real SegaCD case just for storing all of my original manuals. xD

MAYBE I COULD MAKE A CUSTOM BOXART FOR THE CASE FULL OF MANUALS TOO!!!! xD

I like where this is going. Someone please check and see how many manuals you can fit into a single SCD/Saturn case. The suspense is killing me. xD

What I do is I have several binders with the inserts designed for storing comics.  I then drop every manual that doesn't fit into a DVD case into there.  So all my UGC manuals (nothing to hold them in place), my Saturn/SCD manuals, and the PS1 CD manuals.  Plus there's a fair number of PC manuals when I've used a double disc case that doesn't come with an insert clip.

Can you post a picture of the binder inserts? A comic is a little bit larger as well. I wonder if a picture album or so other kind of binder would have the perfect size.... must check the next time I'm at Target

Does anyone here know the dimensions of a Saturn/SCD manual? I'm trying to go online and find a small binder with comic inserts  that might be just about the right size just to fit the manuals. I'm gonna ball park the size at 10in x 6in? But, I really don't know. Can someone measure that real quick and I'll get searching? I'll post anything interesting I can find here.

Euro Saturn: 11.9 * 19.9 CM unopened (width is 23.7 opened)
I have somewhere some Mega CD manuals too, I'll keep looking (but the big ones are bigger than Saturn)

The Euro manuals are the same size as the US manuals, I take it?

Hey all!
BadChad, I used your template to convert my Saturn D manual into a DVD insert - I think it turned out great.

I think this is a GREAT idea and a perfect extension of what this site is here to offer. Have a look at it, everyone and by all means - tell me what you think.

Admins, would there be any disagreement in hosting Saturn/Sega CD/Sega 32X manual conversions? Discuss please. :)

Cannot stress enough how much I love this idea!  :D
