Uh... well I've done plenty of commission work for the same client and one day he arrived with a lot of chinese/russian unlicensed/hacked/bootleg loose carts and said "can you do these too?"
So yeah, I did them. I wouldn't call the guy a sucker for paying a designer for designing stuff he wants (the designer charging very little for all the covers, mind you ;)). Unless your opinion is my covers really suck, of course (an opinion I'd totally respect).
I didn't think posting them here would be wrong, and no I wasn't pretending to sell them or anything, just to check out if people liked them.

X68000, yes I can do them. But isn't Decap Attack a modification of another japanese title already?

Dont get me wrong, your covers are really nice! They dont suck at all and Im sure everyone agrees. I just think that if your going to post them here for us to check out you might as well let us use them too instead of just teasing those that want to use them  :D

It's based off a Japanese Mega Drive game (Magical Hat no Buttobi Turbo Daibouken) but it's different enough that they're not really the same game.

Yeah I guess I can do it. They're not region-protected or anything, are they? Does Mega Turrican have a different name in JP?

Decap Attack has no region protection but Mega Turrican does. Mega Turrican was only released in North America and Europe.

Oh, and do your covers fit Genesis/MD cases or UGCs? I've got a few spare Genesis cases and I'd like to use those.

I made them for regular MD cases, as requested by the customer.

For my own copies, I put the PCB inside japanese plastic clamshells, as X-men 2 and Vectorman are not region-protected :)

First Genesis cover period, really. But, here is Brave Battle Saga. I don't feel like it is quite done yet, so it isn't available on my Box at the moment. But here is an idea of how it is going.

Made a label for it too, but I still need to fix a few things on that.

^ That looks great! I really dig how you did the back cover with the text and the background colours matching very well.  Hopefully the text won't become too indistinguishable when it's printed.

The only feedback I can think of is maybe add a bit of a subtle shadow underneath the characters' feet so they don't look so much like they're floating over the terrain.  Other than that this looks fantastic!  Awesome job, especially considering it's your first go at a Genesis cover.

I haven't printed it yet (no reason to, since I don't have BBS on a repro cart yet.) so I couldn't tell you, but it could be an easy fix if it does. There was so much text from the opening sequence, so I thought it looked a bit scrunched.

Added the shadows under the characters. Too little of a change to display it, but it does look a lot better.

Margins, man, margins ;) They're needed for teh text on the back. Other than that, it's quite nice. Where did you get the artwork?

Tried making the font a little smaller, so that it didn't look so bad. But it is still an awful lot of text for the back. Blah, might just cut some of it out.

Where did you get the artwork?

I can't remember, actually. A few members here provided the character pictures and the backdrop. The image for the back was done with the artwork for the main character, plus some random effects to remove detail and change the colors to match the background more.

You could always try to shrink the screen shots a little bit, it would give you more room for the text.

Decap Attack has no region protection...

First attempt. Decided to use artwork by Nigel Kitching (from Sonic the Comic, UK) instead of the original cover art.
Not quite happy with it yet.

Looks awesome! Here's my suggestions:

-Maybe change the front cover so that it's consistent with Mega Drive games of the time? The blue stripe wasn't introduced until late 1994.
-The part number on the spine should be 1027, not 1051-40.
-Decap Attack is a 1 player game.

Other than those minor nitpicks, it's excellent! I'd love to see what you'll do for Mega Turrican!
