It's only one CD, so why waste a full DVD case when you can cut down on the space it takes up on your shelf?

Doom: I take it you got it during the 10th anniversary? I wish I had jumped on it then. I have the original CD, but I can't find the CD Key anywhere.

Gotten into any mods? I used to love Science and Industry, but people stopped playing it after a while. A damn shame.

Digging through Google. Lots and lots of digging through Google.

Sometimes it brings results; I was very lucky to find that Tentacle vs Gordon pic (It was too epic a part of Half-Life not to include as soon as I saw it) and that very well done Vortigant image. Apparently, both were concept art images. Everywhere else I looked for Half-Life concept art only had Half-Life 2 concept art, which I believe we've all seen about a hundred times (I know I have).

Other times, though, Google yields nothing. Try as I might, the only image of Adrian Shephard I could find was the original cover to Opposing Force. So, lacking anything decent to work with, I just decided to take the same Lambda Wallpaper that Shenske used for Half-Life DC, make it green and replace the Gordon in the center with the only image of Adrian in existence. (I thought that, what with Adrian being a fan favorite, there'd be some fan art of him. I guess we all make mistakes.)

Yeah. I even made a post in the general forum here.

No mods yet, any recommendations?

Well, if you are going for a single-player experience, definitely get They Hunger 1-3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_Hunger. Also, before he made that, he made a map-pack for Half-Life called "USS Darkstar", also worth getting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Darkstar

As for multiplayer, my favorites were Science and Industry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_and_Industry and Front Line Force http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontline_Force. I never played online to much with Half-Life because I had a 56k modem for the longest time; those two, however, were really fun.

There was also Holy Wars, which was basically felt like Quake III Arena on HL, due to the bulky models and arena intentially being designed that way. It had a whole bunch of newly-deceased people fighting in purgatory over a Halo that would allow them admittance to heaven. If someone got the Halo, then it was all against that one person. If you kill someone without a halo while you aren't holding it, you are branded a heretic and suddenly you also become a target for everybody. The Halo would also grant the holder regen, high defense and quad damage, so it would require everyone to drop their rivalries and form quick alliances to take down the halo user before they held it for enough time to win.

There was also another mod I played that was really interesting, but I can't remember the name; You only had 5 weapons, which were modified version of existing HL weapons (The Crowbar was an insta-kill, the Machine Gun had infinite ammo, The Shotgun became a Sniper Rifle, the Rocket Launcher became a devastating Mortar and the Trip-Mines became Proxy Mines), plus everyone had rocket packs that would activate just by holding jump after jumping. The best part, though, was that the mod was compatible with any Half-Life DM, Counter-Strike or Team Fortress Classic map. If played on a CS or TFC map, it went from an insane Deathmatch game to an insane Team game. It made the game truly epic.

So I hate to ask because it always seems to make someone angry but any chance of getting some more of the pc covers put up on the site? The PC section always seems to get the cold shoulder.

I would love to work on a dedicated project if there were other members contributing and standards were used

So I went to Staples last night to get some paper and a paper cutter, all in preparation of starting making covers tonight. Yet when I took my printer out from the box (I haven't used it in like a year) it didn't work. Canon tech support (props for replying in a couple hours) said I'd have to take it to a repair facility.

I'm incredibly pissed off because I got this printer in order to make covers but realized I didn't have the time and it's been in the box ever since. I literally used it one time after I purchased it and now it's broken.

So. pissed.

[edit]
I got it working again with toothpicks... long story... but prints looks like crap. However, looks like Canon might actually replace it, which, if true, is f-ing awesome.

I've gotta Kodak printer myself. The Ink is cheaper than any other brand, and the Printer itself is a Printer-Scanner-Copier combo that I got for $50 on Woot.

For a while, it was perfect. However, after getting fed up with Windows, I switch to Ubuntu and found out the hard way that Kodak doesn't support Linux. I can't even print with it using Wine; the only way I can use it is to restart the system and reboot it under Windows XP.

I just don't understand it. Why would a company willingly ignore a decent segment of their user base? It's not just Linux, they also don't support Mac OS. I mean, c'mon.

I found this awesome site with these great high quality box scans of classic lucasarts adventure games!

http://mojoart.mixnmojo.com/original-art/cover-art.shtml

he didn't include the spines sadly, but nothing a good cover artist couldn't make on his own.

*Edit*

Found another site with good cover art for some older games
