Nice. All the covers I checked were 72dpi though.

Not a very active place. I wonder if he is scanning all his own material in or if he has regular contributors.

I don't have time today, but I'll look around. Another good site is www.galaxycovers.com

I believe they are at 300dpi.

Yeah .... and if you list all the Dreamcast stuff for instance you only find one game that has complete artwork  :(

Yeah it's all current0gen stuff mainly.  In my experience everyone has the case and cover for PS2, GCN, etc.  I haven't seen many disc-only games anywhere.

That's true. I'd love to see some original cover art for some of the current gen games though. I've been scouring my Press access sites for high res artwork to do some covers without much luck

It's still nice to be able to reprint an insert to get rid of the GREATEST PLAYER'S PLATINUM CHOICE HITS crap on some of our cases.

Ha ha, yeah I just thought of that and made a post in another thread.  I agree 100% and retract my statement.

Hi everyone. I'm GameScanner.

1. Activity is slow due to:

2. I scan all (99%) of my covers myself.

3. I don't have a staff.  Just me. So far only two people contributed to my scans.

4. Reason to #1 is that I work, have a life and wife, so I can only do so much.

5. I scan all originals in AdobePhotoshop and save in .PSD files so...

6. Any picture in my collection can be up to 1600dpi

7. But I dont do it cuz I hate getting my hard works stolen.

8. I don't distribute original scans, only per email request.

.... and in free time I do this  http://www.wallpapergate.com/member.php?user_id=1923&action=showprofile

Some nice work there. I can fully understand the desire to do it yourself due to quality issues.

Hi GameScanner,

Not to make a big deal of it but this thread occurred 3 months ago and really cropped up out of your N64 titles. However, not too many of those had the spines ... only 4 or 5 from memory ... so apart from one or two other front/rear scans used to clean up dodgy existing ones we didn't really make much use of them.
However, recently we did look at the Gamecube stuff as well as it made sense to ensure if your site ever disappeared we had covers saved for prosterity. Any Gamecube covers taken from your site were loaded/noted as being from your site. If Snowcone used my name on them then it is purely a mistake on his/my part and I'm sure he'll happily adjust them so you get credit for them.

Lastly, we're over the moon happy when members like yourself submit not just original covers but custom made ones as well. Lots of members love the whole DVD case thing for their PS1/Dreamcast games etc to get a consistent look on the shelf. Take a look at the posts re these in the DVD case forum to see how popular it is. And I think you'll find everyone hugely supportive and appreciative if you decide to contribute custom covers to the cause.

And hard work stolen? Anyone who has contributed to this site knows they'll get nothing out of the hard work they put in other than the fact that they know someone somewhere may get huge satisfaction getting a cover for one of their games. Actually .... it's a bit of a buzz seeing one of your covers has been downloaded a bazillion times   ;D
