Hello all, I am new to the site and have become very excited about buying some cases and printing out covers to make my collection much nicer!

So here's my questions about the Universal Game Case: Do the manuals clip in the case? And if not, has anyone figured out a way to stick the manuals nicely inside the case? Such as hot gluing a tab in?

I guess I could figure it out, but I wanted to know if there were tabs already.

Thank you so much!

Some said they stick the manuals under the front cover.

I use Double wide DVD cases instead of UGC's, they do have clips (some anyway.)

  • Think off-center.
I use some super clear tape and paper clips in mine. Holds pretty solid.

Its actually a much better idea to put them behind the back of the cover because it makes it harder to close the case if you put it in the front. But thats only for SNES and N64 manuals, there should be no problems storing NES and Genesis manuals inside the case.

Is there a guide on how to store games in a double wide DVD case. the search bar isn't helping me find it.
For now I only need cases for SNES games and N64 games. Possibly NES down the road.
Thanks!

For me it depends on the game console.

NES: I just put the manual in with cartridge in the black dust cover.
SNES: I just lay it on top of the cart, it may be "loose" but the manual is almost the same XY as the UGC so it doesn't move around. The downside is it can put a slight (and i really mean slight) crease in your manual over time since it can bend around the cart due to gravity. It hasn't caused any noticeable damage to my manuals yet.
N64: Same as SNES (the manuals are the same size)

I don't like the idea of putting the manual in the plastic sleeve/insert of the cover. It can really stretch out the cover sleeve and the cover can fall out of place and you'll eventually have to replace the UGC.  I've never tried hot gluing in tabs before as you suggested but thats not a bad idea if you can do it right.  If you do this let all of know on the site how well it turned out.  :)

Thanks! I have to wait a few paychecks before I can order cases. But once I do I will try to post some pics. I am also very curious in modding the case to have tabs, but that may be more trouble than it's worth.

One more question: Does anyone know is SNES games will fit in the UGC when they have a dust cover on them?
Thanks!

SNES games do indeed fit inside UGC's with the dust sleeve (clear plastic cover) on the game.  Though it just barely fits.  I dont think you can place both the game, sleeve, and manual all together inside.

Storing SNES games with the dust covers isnt a problem, but getting the manual in there too isnt gonna happen. Thats when you use my solution and tuck them behind the cover. That or youll have to store them somewhere els.
