Yep ... interesting.

Personally? I'll stick with the existing format as it suits and looks far closer to the original boxes. And I prefer the original cd case look for Dreamcast and PSX ... but that's just me as I prefer authentic if at all possible.

But it's great to see people creating custom covers ... gives people more choices at the end of the day which cant be bad eh  ;D

PS. Having the "Only for N64" logo at the top sorta doubles up the N64 logo at the bottom don't you think?

Looks great and I love custom covers!

One question, you know that Super Mario 64 only used one controller and none of the n64 controller extensions (controller pak, rumble pak, expansion pak). Just making sure  ;)

A: You can take off the only for at the top of the spine.... everything is movable.

That's cool. Merely an observation. The original covers only had the one logo that's all .....

I think TheValeman was just pointing out that the original intent of the N64 cover project (as it was started long ago over on Cheap Ass Gamer), was to get the covers to preserve the original game box art. i.e. so that the games appear to be in the original boxes.

Custom covers are great and I like your template. Choices are what make the project so much better.

Some of us prefer to preserve the original artwork/manuals/labels. This does not take anything away from your work or criticize you, everyone has their own personal preference.
Its creativity like yours that allows there to be covers for games in which original artwork no longer exists.

On the other hand, a LOT of people here are looking for custom covers to replace the originals because they don't particularly like the cover that came with their games, or they simply want their PSX/Dreamcast/Sega CD/etc. games to match the newer PS2/XBox/GCN cases.

Good job on the custom template.

I'm in the same boat as TheValeman - I actually dislike that the majority of PlayStation and Dreamcast covers diverge so much from the original ones. But lots of people like to have them in DVD cases, so unless I get off my arse and start doing original covers, who am I to complain about custom covers?

Exactly. And if you look at the site there's a distinct lack of Dreamcast and PSX covers preserved at 300dpi in their original form ..... and that's a crime in my eyes.

There are quite some PS1 and Dreamcast covers in the raw scans section. Someone was kind enough to scan his games and upload them. What a nice guy ;)

Yep .... I started bulk downloading them to check the quality etc and make sure they're aligned, cropped etc. Gonna be fun  ;D
I also scanned my PAL Gran Turismo and cleaned it up. Seperate post coming for that one
