I thought maybe the toner in my printer was running low, but I still have 70% of all three colors and 90% of black. So I thought maybe the printer was broken, but I printed out a demo page and the colors look extremely bright and vibrant. Any other picture I have saved to my computer prints out great too, but any cover I try to print from this site comes out looking really faded, like it's been sitting in the sun for years. Since it's only the covers here that are printing out like this, they must be the problem. Is there some setting I need to switch on my printer to get the covers here to print out right?

Dare I ask did you again forget to select the correct paper type?

Also my printer has two settings that factor to the end result (and ink consumption):

First is the paper type (matte, normal, semi gloss, glossy, extra gloss...) the second is print quality (low, normal, high quality, photo...)

You can try to select higher level paper than your using.

But I have to admit, not all the covers here are high quality, few are pretty s***, like NES Adventure Island 2's front.

I'm pretty sure I have the right type selected. This is a different paper than the glossy kind I was using before. It's 24 lbs and the brightness is 98. Not sure if that changes anything. I've tried printing with it set to "plain" and also tried "thick" but there was no difference.

And I also tried printing on both sides of the paper just to be sure I wasn't using the reverse side again, but both sides come out looking the same.

Try setting print quality to high and paper to glossy or extra glossy.

Oh and chaeck does your printer on printing program let you manually set the color levels.
It probably does as my cheap ass printer and Paint allow me to do that, although I've never done that.

When I try to change the paper type to "glossy photo" it says that option isn't available and I have to change the paper size to letter to be able to select it.  ??? I'm printing out of Preview on a MacBook and I've never really messed with the settings on it before aside from changing paper size and type. I tried setting the paper type to "bond" and the colors look better. Red doesn't look like pink and black doesn't look like gray anymore, so now my Pokémon Red version doesn't look like Pokémon Pink version. :P

This cover was personally approved by me so it is high quality enough mister "how many covers did you do yourself in your time here"?

Sorry if I offended you  ;D , but I meant what I said, quality of this cover's front is S***

I'm talking about this version: http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=8646

No way this would be approved now, front is grainy and it gets even worse when printed.

And true I haven't done covers, and I am ashamed to admit that my PS skills are non-existing.  Only what I can do is provide raws.

It's not that bad. Actually I printed it and it looks decent enough.

The problem is that the raw for this cover was not of the best quality to begin with. It was high res and descreened but unfortunately it still didn't look too good (some scanners aren't too hot for some covers). If someone provides a better looking front I would gladly swap it but still Akumu did not do too bad of a job! So appreciate his work and effort a little bit!

Maybe it's my printer then, but no it doesn't:

I guessed that.
OK I admit maybe S*** is too strong word, but not good quality

Best I can do is to provide label scan of the game: http://www.mediafire.com/?7cshkrr93k7a8c7
It's missing parts of the cover.

Rest of the cover is good.

I do he has done many great covers, few of the best actually. This one just is not up to par.

Sorry, not trying to anger anyone.  ;D

Is there a site you know of that sells glossy paper in legal size that works on a laser printer? The glossy paper I have now is only letter size so it works with smaller covers, but I can't get UGC covers to fit on it. All the legal glossy stuff I find says it's for inkjet printers and I've been told it's not good to mix the two paper types because some inkjet papers have coatings that can melt inside a laser printer and ruin it.
