Very nice setup. It's so tidy! :D Looks like your collection has definitely grown since your last set of photos.

Like the room, and love your Vizio.  What model is it is 120HZ?  The reason I ask is cause I think I have the same one.  How do you like it?

You have a really nice looking collection with everything sorted so orderly, in their own plastic containers, and the set up looks neat, plus the area looks taken care of. I also like that you save and keep in good condition the console boxes. I do that as well. :)

But, I wonder why do you have a garbage brand TV like Vizio, when you can get a superior Panny for a comparable price? Also, why haven't you removed the sticker from the front of the TV yet? And lastly, you do realize you can cause serious harm to your Wii by having it sit atop your sub-woofer. If the magnet won't damage it the vibrations will.

Yes, it's the 120Hz. 42 inch, 1080p. I love it.

Whoa now.

Vizio's are not bad TV's. I've done research before forking down cash on a TV, and I read nothing but good things about them. Not to mention, I've got the two year warranty for free cause my friend worked at the Walmart I got it from, so regardless, if anything happens, I can just go up to Walmart and grab another one for free.

$640 for a 42 inch 120Hz TV WITH a two year replacement plan is not a bad deal. And I haven't decided if I want to remove the sticker yet, cause I kinda like it.

Also, my Wii has been sitting on that same sub-woofer since November 19th, 2006, the day the Wii came out. It's a launch Wii, and I have had no problems. Thanks.  :)

Well, they have 60Hz, 120Hz, 240Hz. It's the refresh rate at which the TV can process. Obviously the higher, the better.

Here's a video explaining:

Wow, I have that exact same chair and before I got my laser printer I had that exact same HP all-in-one. I also have a Vizio TV but mine's only 37".

Your room looks awesome. I love how you have so much to display, yet do so in such an organized manner. My room is a total sty. No matter how often I straighten it up, it manages to get trashed again because I have no room to put things and end up just stacking it all on the floor. If only my family wasn't against yard sales, I could sell all the crap taking up my storage cabinets and fit my games and DVDs in there. I have a ton of stuff I don't want/need, but I can't stand to just throw it out. I know someone out there could use some of it, not to mention I might be able to make a buck or two.

LordXaero , I also have the sticker on my TV.  I also bought it at Walmart.  My wife is the most un-tv person on the planet. She cant sit though a movie if her life depend on it.  But yet she walks in my room and always comments on how awsome the picture looks.

Vizio's consistently get lower ratings and while their higher end models are getting better the Vizio brand is still on the lower rung for quality HDTVs.

You also bought an economy HDTV, model # E420VL at Walmart, and an LCD one at that for console gaming. I don't get why you bought an LCD for your main gaming HDTV. It's not going to have true blacks and LCDs are notorious for input lag and motion blur. Check the AVSForum thread on it, the consensus is that it's not that great a tv for gaming, and some people have even complained about distortion on the bottom of the screen when playing HD games. You can't even say you got the best bang for your buck as you could've paid the same for a 42" Panasonic Viera plasma at Sam's Club and had a lifetime return policy to work with (or bought it on Amazon w/ free shipping & possibly no tax).

As you can tell I'm a plasma guy as the image on a good plasma from Pioneer or Panasonic just pops out at you in a way that makes anything else look like garbage. There's a reason they consistently win awards and set the bar for image quality. Plus true blacks and much less input lag/motion blur compared to LCDs. I had a friend who did what you did and bought a Vizio around a year ago and he thought the same as yourself until he came over to play some games at my place. His jaw dropped at the image quality on my 50" Panny, which I only paid $800 at Sam's Club for, and heeded my advice in returning the Vizio LCD ASAP.

Nonetheless, it's what you choose, so have you had it professionally calibrated, or at least used a calibration disc on it? Or are you just going with the default factory settings and/or eye balling it? Because I can't say enough about, at minimum, using a calibration disc on the set as they will get outta wack from being moved around in transit and not being calibrated correctly at the plant.

As for the issue with the Wii on your sub-woofer, be happy that your sub-woofer probably has pretty good magnetic shielding. Even with the shielding the vibrations can damage the console and/or discs placed inside. Be happy Nintendo built a sturdy console. I'd like to see you put your 360 on top of the Sub and see if you can handle exchanging 7 systems like this moron for doing such a thing himself. XD

I have to just be a positive drone about it?! I can't converse about the set up? He said he did the research on it, mind you, so there shouldn't be a problem with some interplay on the merits of the TV...

You see Victor Von Doom, if I wanted your opinion on my TV, I would have made a thread about my new TV, and would want peoples opinions on it.

I am by no means a rich guy, and I worked the oil spill cleanup (83 hours weeks, no days off for a month) to get that TV (and of course take care of other personal things), after owning a 27 inch Sanyo TruFlat Tube TV for almost six years.

It was time for me to do an upgrade, however, while watching my money. I could care less about the "deeper blacks" or whatever, all I wanted was an HDTV for the right price. I found one. I'm happy with it, and I love the way all my systems look on it, even if the old systems look like crap now, I am still happy with my TV. It will be my TV until' I'm ready for a new one, which knowing me, I won't be for quite some time. My TV does it's job, just as much as yours does its job. Yours might look better (and good job if it does), but who's comparing them side by side? I'm not. And neither should you.

I didn't ask for a detailed analysis of my TV, but you gave me one regardless. And not to be rude or anything, I really don't care. Everyone is happy with what THEY decide to get. And that's all that should matter.
