As a sega master system owner I'd say you're crazy if you're saying the SMS is better.
(besides there's the power base converter)
The Genesis is, on the whole, cheaper to collect for in my experience, especially in the wild. If we're just purely talking which has more great games, that's honestly extrmely close. I'd honestly say to try and get both. You can always make room for more consoles :)

Sorry for the confusion, I was trying to point out that the Sega Master System was first, and then the Sega Genesis. The Sega Master System = the NES of Sega. So it's kind of hard to compare two different generation systems. I love old games

If I HAD to pick, I would say NES. It doesnt get much more badass then the NES when it comes to videogames. But I love my Genesis too. I dont know what life would be like if I was never graced with games like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Shinobi trilogies. I would say you have to get both.
But before you do that you should go on an emulation spree and just downlaod anything and everyhting that looks like you might enjoy. I played ALOT of video games while I was still pretty young (dad bought me my NES at 3), but it wasnt till I was about 14 that I found out about emulation. I pretty much dug through everyhting for the NES, SNES and Genesis and found out about sooooo many good games I never even knew existed which greatly influenced me to start collecting.

I grew up with the Genesis, so I'm quite fond of that one. It's what started me on my Sonic spree.

I think I'm gonna try to get both and stack them on top of each other. I'll need to get another input box if I get both, in which case I could probably try to make even more room on my stand and get more consoles. But then I'd also need to buy another power strip because mine around about full. I need more than just three outlets in my room! Two of them aren't even anywhere near where my TV stand will fit.
