Just wanted to ask does Gamereproductions have permission to use our covers.

I don't mean the template but ready covers.

I think atleast the Dragon Quest V, Treasure of Rudras, LOZ Paraller Worlds,  and possibly Secret of Mana 2 covers might be from here.

we don't host covers for unreleased games, so those covers aren't "ours" anyhow.

We don't host such covers and we in general don't really "support" reproductions of copyrighted material.

So not our soup...

Yeah no kidding. Looks like hes using my Mega Man & Bass cover and couple of Peach Waffles covers as well. A simple PM asking to use them would been nice. To be honest I dont really want my covers beeing sold. Im sure Peach Waffles would feel the same.

that artwork was likely provided to him by a third party, and i doubt in either case that your covers are factored into the price of those repros at all.

It has nothing to do with the profit hell make off my covers as Im sure hell be making no fortune off of them. But I didnt make my covers so they could be sold off a reproduction site. If thats what I wanted I could of sent them to him myself. If someone wants a cover for their Mega Man & Bass reproduction cart, they can download it and print it themselves. If he wants to sell his games with cases and covers then he should make his own and do so or al least ask for permission to use someone elses.

if they're made to go on repro cats anyhow then what's the problem? I'd personally be flattered if someone thought my customs looked good enough to use as default art on a repro.

besides, as i tried to say before, he's not selling your cover, he's selling the cart.

Q: So what exactly am I paying for??
A: The ONLY thing that you are paying for, is the materials, wire, solder, ink for the labels, label paper, and the time it takes me to build the cartridge for you etc.
A: What you are NOT paying for, is the rom/image of the game All of the rom's can be downloaded all across the internet.

If he had a simple link to our site saying that he got the artwork from our forums then i wouldn't care. I personally cant speak for the cover creators though.

having a cover does directly effect the sale, i know i'm 90% more likely to buy the game i want when it comes with a case and art rather then cart alone thats for sure

I guess my biggest problem with this is how much extra is charged for the case with the game. Most of the SNES repros are $60, but $70 with a case. I just don't see how the cost of that one case, that one sheet of paper, and the ink used on that paper equals out to $10, if all that those who are buying the game and case are paying for is the materials.

That, and he's charging money for something that is available for free online. I guess I can understand for some people who don't really have all the resources to buy the cases and print the covers out themselves, but still.

Credit would be nice (to either the creator or the site), but he can't really ask for permission to use them, since none of it is original material. Regardless, people will never stop trying to make money off of any of the covers provided on the site and on the forums, so there isn't a whole lot that we can do about it, other than maybe ask that there be a link to the site in the item description.

That's just my two cents.

My two cents is he's a scumbag who's ripping people off with his scam site, and I hope it gets shut down. If he's really just charging for the work to make the carts why are the prices so wildly different from game to game? I guess some roms require more "work" than others to make into a cart! Funny how it's the most popular ones too...  >:(
I'd rather just case my own Japanese carts with the covers you guys make than pay for such a "service".

look up info on repros and you'll find that many games are in fact much more difficult and more expensive to make than ohers. some use more ROM chips than others, some use special chips, etc. Making these isn't as easy as you might think.

his prices are pretty standard for the service, actually
