It deserved to fail, but it didn't deserve the immense failure at the hands of the PS2. I get that. What games on the DC are worth playing?

My criteria for "worth playing" (for me and me only, others have different needs)

-No fighters
-If there's a better port on another console, don't mention it
-No old sports games if newer ones are better

As an owner of the other 6th generation consoles, I've long decided I don't need a Dreamcast. I can't think of many reasons to get one besides Jet Grind Radio.

Worth playing, based on your criteria:

Seaman
Typing of the Dead
E.G.G. Elemental Gimmick Gear (I actually enjoyed this one, not sure about reviews.)
Segagaga
Jet Grind Radio
Shenmue

Power Stone isn't a fighter in the traditional sense so I'm going to mention it anyway.
oh and Cannon Spike!

the keyboard makes playing Phantasy Star Online much nicer on the DC.

might be worth pointing out that most of the dreamcast games that are available on other 6th gen consoles were originally exclusive until the system's demise.

we're forgetting

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
Shenmue 1 & 2 (pre-ported)
Quake and Unreal Tournament!
Resident Evil Code Veronica (pre Port)
And the fighters have to be mentioned as well as all the shooters

You're absoutely right, all fantastic reason to own a Dreamcast. But based on Doom's criteria: Sonic Adventure 1&2 were ported to Gamecube, Shenmue 2 to Xbox, Resident Evil Code: Veronica to Gamecube and Playstation 2 - all fantastic games but no longer Dreamcast exclusives.

-No fighters

At the time it was the only one to have all the SNK fighters. It wasn't until later in the PS2 and Xbox's life that they got all the KoF games (99-02).

Dreamcast was the only console to have:
Capcom vs. SNK
Marvel vs. Capcom
Soul Calibur
Darkstalkers Chronicle
Project Justice

IMO DoA 2 was better on the Dreamcast

Come on guys. I wrote barely anything in my original post, and you still screw up. There are reasons to love the Dreamcast. None of them apply to me. Most of them do not apply in 2010.

Well its not practical now, the only reason you can own a dreamcast now is basically emulation and homebrew. As all the good stuff was ported over.

I never got a dream cast, cause I thought it WASN'T great. Any of the games I liked that were released on it were either available on another system then, or they are now. Even most of the ones people are listing. I think that might be we why it tanked....wasn't offering anything unique.
