  • ...and that's the bottom line
Everytime I see these posts I wonder why nobody ever thinks of using VHS cases as a substitute? I am in the process of printing all my SNES covers in one go and I ordered 100 black VHS cases with sleeve for 45€ (~ $58). So they are in the same price range as UGCs. You might have to hit ebay to get them but they are very common. I use a neat little freeware programm called ezcovermaker which rezises the covers automatically to fit VHS cases. Once I'm done with my covers I'll post pictures, I just thought I'd bring it up as I always wondered why people would suggest 8-DVD cases instead of the less painful VHS-route :)

my only issue with VHS cases is the dimensions are so far removed from the original boxes - ie much taller and a little wider.  Need to do quite a bit of stretching to get our covers to fit.  Would definitely be interested to see how they look once you've done them.

It's easier for me to find 8 DVD cases than it is to find VHS. There's probably an online store for them, I just haven't looked. :)

1. Almost no resizing needed with the DVD cases, actually I don't resize, I just leave 5mm white strip at the bottom when I cut.
2. With DVD cases I can be sure that the SNES and N64 manuals fit without bending.
3. as teh are same height as PS2, XBOX, X360 and other DVD cases, I can easily rearrange my collection, as my custom shelves are DVD spaced.
4. What Doom said above.

And a partridge in a pear tree  ;D

I'm from the Netherlands and I still need to buy around 30 cases as well! Was thinking of ordering them here:

http://www.racketboy.com/store/featured/universale-game-case.html

The shipping costs however are reallllly high, so maybe we can order them together?

Yeah, I found that one too.. But it is $1.45 per piece, instead of $0.45, and the shipping costs are high.
$133.03 for 50 pieces total, that's like €2,- per piece!

But maybe someone from the US can send a box to The Netherlands? Anyone intrested in helping us out?

I know, but it wouldn't really change anything. The shipping costs are just very high from the US, because the package is just very large..

Yeah true.. too bad. :(

Anyway, I'm now testing VHS boxes in combination with a glue gun. First test with a SNES game I used too much glue, but it looks nice. Tomorrow I will test another game a different way. I found a nice add with VHS boxes for €0,05 per piece.

Only thing is the instruction bookled.. It is too wide and will fold.. Anyone an idea for that problem maybe?

It worked, but it's too much work to do. ;)
