Ok, so I tried making a proper retail cover for Super Metroid using Paint. It seems possible, but it takes a rediculous amount of time. Here's what I got so far: But like I said, its just waaaaay too time-consuming this way! I really need someone to explain how to use photoshop for this kind of thing.. |

The healing brush and clone tool will be your best friends. |

Ok, well I tried messing around with Paintshop a little bit, using the pattern brush a lot especially.. Finished the Super Metroid cover and I think the result is excellent, but it still took ages: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FFW2LWB8 After that I was messing around a bit more and found out that using the Magic Wand tool and then selecting "invert" is a great way to copy text and images and it would probably have saved me hours using that function :( Anyway, please give me some feedback on the cover I made! |

It is possible to make nice covers in paint but your scans need to be pretty clean since there isnt a whole lot you can do to fix them up. Altho I did get a few covers approved while I was using paint, using PS makes so much more sense. And if your good enough with paint to make a cover that gets approved youd might as well be using PS anyway, I caught on really quick. |
