I see the list of raw scans are gone. I take it that they've been placed in their respective file (if meeting standards). What I'm wondering is, should I be uploading scans not on the site if they haven't been requested? I ask because while reading in the forums, I have noticed many times, someone put in a request and another member respond saying that they have said game and will scan it in or just link to where they have it hosted.

Also, if a scan passes the initial check, does it mean another of the same is not needed? Example: I scanned Road Rash on Sega Saturn because I didn't see a finished cover for the game and it wasn't on the initial raw scans page. I hadn't thought to check the raw scans Saturn folder. When I looked in there, I saw someone had already uploaded the front and back. The scans seemed small (1668kb, 1354kb and 135kb) so I figured I'd just upload mine seeing it was already done.

Thanks for any advice/responses

I would think, that if your scan is of better quality, it would not do any harm.

Go ahead. To my knowledge, there is no "initial check" for raw scans. As long as it's a real cover, it should be allowed in the raw scans section. If you feel your scans are better than the ones already in the raw scans section, go ahead and upload them.

I think you should upload them even without someone requesting them.

I can't speak for others but when bored, I like to go through and find RAW scans of covers that aren't on the site and work on a custom cover.
