Slim-Lining My Games
ShoothimNow:
Sup all. I am about to under go a huge project I've been meaning to work on --> Slim-Lining my video games. What I have came up with for a spine is this ATM. What do you guys think?
*Mind you, I would love to use the actual logo to the video game, but the spine is incredibly small.
**I will probably either have the spine white or mainly transparent
**Will most likely end up having Xbox and PS2's top spine the same size**
I have a crap load of PS2 games (yard sales have become my enemy lately with games going for $0.25 each.... damn it... When friends comes over, they look to see what I have and their reaction is always "Woah, I don't know this game! Is it 2 pla... nope...". By having "MAX PLAYERS" posted on the spine, I feel that should speed up the process with finding a game to play with my bud's ;D.
Other than that, I added the year to the spine to indicate how old the game is (Dur). Yes this is printed on the back, but if you had as much OCD as me (you would probably kill yourself...), Alphabetizing my only "Name" isn't fun sometimes, maybe I would like to Sort my games by year? Would also be cool to boast "Ha! Kingdom Hearts is ~2002, while Kingdom Hearts 2 is ~2006!" to see how long has passed to create the sequel/prequel. If allowed, I would like to post these when I am finished as "Custom Slim-Line" cases if admins would allow me to.
If people don't like the idea of "MAX PLAYER" and "YEAR", but still like the idea of slim-lined PS2/Xbox/GC games, I would also gladly upload the finished covers without the extras.
What do you guys think?
sheep2001:
started a similar project myself:
my templates cover ps1/2 (pal/ntsc), saturn, gamecube and xbox - all same size spine banner, and just change out the logo on the top. I included pal/ntsc on the spine, and publisher logo, as there was too much white space about. I started with a lot of enthusiasm, but have really slowed down - looking at how much is left to do scares me! ;D
BadChad:
Damn, thats alot of original cases you gotta store somewhere!
Jonesat:
it always saddens me to see all the games down to slimline....
cause like badchad said, either they have to find a place to store all the old art / cases, or they just tossed them out :(
sheep2001:
toss them out???? not a chance - all packed safely in the loft!
