Whoops - yeah, sorry about the off-topic-ness.

The paint jobs look pretty awesome.  If I thought I was talented enough to make it come out as well as your's looks, I'd totally do that to my spare copy of Link's Awakening.  I wonder - does that paint work well on the DS cases themselves?  If you could get the case painted without getting any on the sleeve, that would look super-cool.

DAMN!!! Now I have reason to buy 16 Cubes with 16 GB Players (and because they have to be perfect 16 BBA's too) and probably the Component cables also.
It's a reference to UncleBob's 16 FB2K carts, and his attempt to get a tournament going.

I know, I want to do that too!

just a fyi, when I say metallic red/blue, I dont' mean exactly metallic red/blue.

more like a metallic uh... scarlet or something and a metallic indigo or something

Yeah I know, I too have specific shades and shininess in mind.

Arseen, get 5 tvs, 4 gameboy players, hook them all up to one gamecube via the GBA/GC cable, play a badass round of Four Swords Adventures.

Oh that is good choice for the second setup!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here... ?

Just that I'd like to also get Component cables for all my Cubes, but the cables are expensive to buy nowadays. And you are in possesion of many, so I get jealous, hence (with the added missing part bolded): Two letters other is the 6th letter of alphabet, feel free to guess the other!  Wink

it could also be written something like **** ***! but that would be impolite  ;D

You know what'll really make you made then?

I paid full price when I ordered my first set of Component Cables from Nintendo.

The other four sets were each picked up used at GameStop for $4.99 each.  :D

Yeah, it's a pretty crazy anomaly. Gamestop doesn't consider them a separate item and prices them the same as any old composite cable. Iirc Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 and 2 plus is REALLY cheap there if you're lucky enough to find it.

Actually...

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=32149

Punch in your ZIP Code, the ZIP of friends/family or the ZIP of places you're traveling to/through and voila!  Next thing you know, you've got plenty of component cables.

If you're lucky enough, you can score some 99 cent Broadband adapters this way too...

(they were $1.99 when I picked mine up).

On the down side, you'll often find regular composite cables or the modem labeled as a component cables/broadband adapter.

This guy took it a step further, and printed the label on metallic paper. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Back to off-topic: This pretty close to the blue and red I'd use:

http://www.pcdistrict.com/modules/productcatalog/product_images/134032-nokia-3660-8980.jpg

I had that blue version and it's actually bit darker, but I'd prefer the blue to be bit more violet and the red darker.

I did something similar years ago to my NES.  I painted the top of it black, taped a triforce to the top of it, then painted the whole thing gold, it looked sweet, shame someone stole it >_<

Very nice work on the "Link to the Past" cartridge; I like it. :)

Just so everyone knows, the warning label for a Super NES game cart is 3 & 1/8" x 1 & 7/32", or 938 x 366 pixels.

i did this with a copy of double dragon II on NES. i payed a like 10 dllrs for a copy which was supposedly like new, and ended up WORKING like new but it looked bad. i decided to paint it because
i couldn't do anything else to fix it. i used the only spray paint i found at home and was light grey, almost white. kinda looks weird, but looks waaaay better thn before. it looked like someone tried to boil it, it had white dots all around and the sticker was complete but very bad looking. sadly i dropped the cartridge while taking out the tape and messed out a little bit the top label.

i think i'll buy it again later, if someone sellls a decent copy for a low price... and if a flea marked guy wants to buy it

I wonder how these paint jobs are holding up. That paint doesn't do well with lots of handling, plus the lack of adhesion promoter when painting plastic parts = bad news.

How this should be done,

Remove labels
Scuff pad
Adhesion promoter
Base coat
Top coat
New labels
