I've tried uploading 360 covers alot over the past 2 months, and none of them seem to get accepted, i was wondering why?

they arent custom covers or anything like that, just retail scans, fixed to proper tcp format and such.   for instance i've been uploading borderlands the last month and some and it doesnt seem to get accepted......just wondering so i can fix whatever it is i'm doing wrong :)

Video games have ruined my life.....good thing i have 2 more lives :D

I wish I could check right now, but the only Internet I've got for the day is my iPod. I'm sure one of the cover admins will beat me to it anyway. :)

My guess is maybe it should be uploaded to RAWs because it needs touching up? Could be a number of things like the wrong dimensions and such. Otherwise it may just be taking a while for the admins to get around to it, as they have MANY covers to process. If so, then just have patience ;)

That reminds me, might as well scan my Borderlands addon disc seeing as it serves no other purpose ATM :p

Your borderlands cover is still in the pipeline.

360 is rather low on most of the admins priority I think so such covers can take quite a while.

Retro are generally processed faster because those are much more important to preserve(at least to me). ;)

Yeah, same here. A good retro scans (let's say pre PS2 for the younger ones here ;) ) is like Christmas. A lot of these scans are very hard to come by so when we see a SNES or Genesis or maybe more obscure cover we jump on it like a pack of hungry wolves and the newer or current systems move the end of the queue. Please just be patient, we'll get down to it. And if there's a cover from regular forum posters we usually contact them to tell them what's wrong IF something's wrong. So yeah, it's pretty much just a matter of priority and while your new covers are certainly no less appreciated than retro covers, usually the latter are processed faster.

Ohhhhhhh kk cool thanks guys.

the way i pictured it was that all the covers that get sent in are in like a queue and you like have no other choice but to go through them in order so when i saw stuff that was uploaded after what i uploaded i assumed it was denied.  this makes a whole lot more sense to me now lol

thanks for your time!

Was that the general impression? If so, to make it clear, all covers that are uploaded are stored on the ftp alphabetically by username.

Files on the ftp usually look like this

Username_custom/retail_system_gamename_region

The admins who work their way through the queue can choose from all the covers on the ftp which ones they want to process. Everyone has his own approach, I usually go by username and download all covers from one artist and check/add them.

Also, there's more of a reason to preserve them. Looking at the Wii section, it's clear pirates use The Cover Project to print out covers for their pirated games. I have no idea why.

There are legitimate reasons for preserving the newer art, but time is of the essence for scanning game boxes before they're all gone.
